The question obviously isn't about Drexler and Dream who are automatic, but is there a possibility of Horry and Cassell sneaking in?

Horry with his 7 rings and a career of amazing shots. Cassell with just a great career -- he was an elite player for about 6 seasons and carried teams on his own to the brink of the finals.

Horry, I think so, although that speaks more to the relatively low standards of the Hall than Rob's career. He is one of the NBA's signature players of his era, in a totally unique way that's never been replicated.

Cassell, I really really doubt it.

Cassell was huge for us off the bench during the title run -- his numbers 1996-2004 were very good -- better than Horry's.

Cassell had a good career and Horry had an average career. Neither of them had a great career, which is what you would expect out of a Hall of Famer. Now the Texas Hall of Fame is a different story.

No way, they are going to be on the HOF, but they would be in Houston Rockets honor ring, if they would have one.

Hell no...Horry didn't even average double figures for his career and you want to put him in the hall of fame.

Rudy should be in as a coach so that's 3.

I respect E.T. a lot but I would put his chances somewhere between highly unlikely and nil. Somewhere around the idea of A Flock of Seagulls making the R&R HOF.

I would put Horry's prospects a bit higher because of his unusual career but I'd consider his chances very low as well. He obviously has an unusual number of rings, more than anyone in the modern era, but he is also a career role player. His career stats were 7.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. And I'm pretty sure he was never selected as an All-Star. I concede he is an oddity and he holds some unusual records. But he was a role player who was lucky enough to play behind the three best big men of his time: Hakeem, Shaq and Duncan. You don't make the HOF for being the world's best back-up singer. He was never even on a team where he was the second best player.

I think you left one guy off though and possibly two depending on how you look at it.

Rudy T was obviously instrumental in those championships and he should be a HOF'er for sure if he isn't already (I don't keep up with such things).

Calvin Murphy also received a couple of the rings as well for his work on the microphone and he also belongs in the HOF.

So maybe there are 4 after all.

Here's a fun trivia question maybe. Has a player ever been inducted into the HOF without ever making an All-Star team?

Only player that might have been would be Horry but most say, because of the stats, he will always be left off the ballot.

Then again, if a defensive specialist that never won defensive player of the year muliple times, nor was a center, ever gets in, he at least has a higher shot of making it then Bruce Bowen.

Come to think of it, Rudy really should be in the HOF as a coach.

He's won the same amount of championships as Chuck Daly who is considered to be one of the greatest coaches ever. He also coached the US team to a gold medal just like Daley did.

How is he NOT in the HOF? Is he eligible yet?

Yeah, I should have definitely included Rudy - especially if you look at the job he did with the 98 WC team and the 2000 Olympic team.
