What would happen if the NFL decides the Texans conveniently lost those last tow games? Are they breaking any rules? Could they have to answer charges of losing in order to get a good position in the draft?
If Houston, Green Bay and San Francisco all wind up with the same record assuming one of Houstons wins is over San Francisdo, what would be the order of choosing. Lastly doesnt the NFL need to think about a lottery like the NBA? Maybe I dont understand the process well enough.

Even if it were true or suspicious enough to warrant a closer look, you need a smoking gun or whistle-blower. With the number of guys on an NFL roster, someone would step forward and say something, if only anonymously to a paper.

If there is a tie then the team with the easiest record gets the highest pick. So basically the Texans better not win anymore because they have a harder schedule than the other teams. Having to play the Colts twice really hurts us.

Yeah, tanking the season to get a high draft pick is deplorable.

    Sincerely,
    The 1983 Houston Rockets
    The 1984 Houston Rockets
    The 1997 San Antonio Spurs

There are a few reasons why the NBA has a lottery and the NFL doesn't:

    1) It's a helluva lot easier to tank basketball games. Just bench your one or two best players with sprained backs or plantar fascitis, and you're pretty much assured of losing. Losing a football game requires a real team effort, something most players have too much dignity for

    2) The #1 pick in the NBA draft is a lot more significant than the #1 NFL pick. A single player can mean the difference on and NBA team

    3) An NFL owner has a LOT more money at stake than an NBA owner. Losing games = Losing revenue

I'll be pissed if we arent in a position to take Bush or at least be on the positive side of a lopsided trade with someone who wants to trade up.

If we win any more games, my respect for Capers will drop even more.

Don't you thinhk if they were good enough to turn it on and off like that, that they would be a TAD better than they are?

Not to mention football could be extremely dangerous if you were tanking it.

I have a bad feeling the Texans will mess it up and we won't end up with Reggie. Either they win some games and lose out on the 1st pick or they get the pick and trade it away :(

I don't think the Texans need any help losing. They've become pretty good at losing close games.

That is so true. Whatever they do to lose, they should do it at full speed.

This will be the San Francisco game.

The Voice: "Carr snaps the ball... He steps back for the pass. Andre is wide open. He launches a perfect pass to Spencer"
    ...
The Voice: "Carr steps up to the line... The 49er's move 8 men into the box... Carr calls an audible... snaps the ball and hands it to Davis... Davis runs for his life to the sidelines."
    ...
The Voice: "3 seconds to go... Brown in to attempt a 17 yard field goal... It looks like the Texans will most likely win this game... Stanley calls the snap... Wait... Stanley is going for the end zone... and he is down at the 1. Game over... The Texans lose 19-17... Wait... The 49er fans are booing their team as they head to the locker room"

    You get my point.

This is how it's shaping up so far. If we end in a 4-way tie with Jets, 49ers, and Packers we would have the #2 pick in the draft with the Jets selecting #1.

Wouldn't the Jets take Matt L over Bush? Seems like Chad Pennington is on borrowed time and has arm issues after another shoulder injury...

This could be good news for H-Town.
