I don't know what the hell are the refs doing this year, but bad officiating are all over the league. Yao is not the only one that's getting bad calls, Ray Allen, Shaq, T-Mac, VC, all had problem with the refereeing this season. I think it's time for the NBA start cleanning the house now, get all the bad refs out of their job.
ZERO FT attempts is absolutely outrageous!!! Just look at the picture of Bradley bear-hugging Yao. That's one foul right there! In addition to this bull**** of Yao not getting calls, last night Dallas had 20 FT attempts while Rox had only 10... I hate these refs. They need to go. Refs suck.

Yao could help himself by being more aggressive. The refs would notice him alot more out there that way. I can't believe I just said that.
Yao has to initiate contact. Tricky thing to do sometimes without getting called for a foul. But watching the game tonight against Big Z, Yao usually spun away from the basket; whereas, Z drove to the basket. It's hard to blame the refs for calling more fouls on plays to the basket. Just like people said about the Dream Shake, a lot of people talk about how some of Yao's spin moves are unguardable. If they're unguardable, then they're less prone to be fouled. He needs to attack, attack, attack. Sure he'll get called for offensive fouls at first because it'll take the refs a while to get used to a more aggressive Yao, but just like Shaq, he'll eventually earn some cred with the refs. He hasn't earned that yet.
