    I saw this quote yesterday:

Would the Rockets really be that much better with Jackson?

I got so happy when I saw that but the article was really about Jackson and the Knicks. Would Les eat the last two years of the JVG deal just to get Phil Jackson. And would he pay Phil $12M a year that he would want?

I doubt it but at least with the Rox he has the two ingredients he needed for the Lakers to win.

O well I can only hope we get him.

Well, the Rockets have the players needed to run the triangle offense.

    I hate Phil.

I could live with it if he were hired and the Rox became a contender, but all things being equal, I'd rather he keep his arrogant self away from my team.

To quote the Rolling Stones: "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need."

I really, really, really hope Phil Jackson wants the job. Les would dump Van Gundy in a second.

whats the appeal of the knicks job? i've heard phil jackson and larry brown associated with it but i'm assuming the larry brown one has to be a rumor. if phil jackson goes there and turns that pile of turd around then he really is the best coach ever.

Phil Jackson would be a dream coach for us. The guy is a proven winner, 9 times to be exact. He gets players to play at their best under him.

IF PJ would take the job, I hope it would be a no brainer for Les.

I'm not sure how it works, but I think we would only pay JVG until he found another job.

And just for kicks, I don't think JVG would have any problems finding another job, especially this summer. Both NYK and Detroit would be up for grabs, the Pistons defensive capabilities must have JVG's mouth watering.

I really wish we could get Phil Jackson. He would be perfect for us. Bill Walton was saying the same thing prior to Sunday's game.

I just don't think they will get rid of Van Grumpy, expecially since we seem to be winning a bit more now.

Still, Phil Jackson could take this team to another level.

But would Les pay Phil 12 Million Dollars or more...

One more thing that may help us is that Phil hates Van Grumpy and maybe just maybe hate him enough to take his job.

How can we (clutchfans) make PJ hate Van Grumpy more? Do we have anyone with a good enough idea?

Phil Jackson is a coach that veteran players would love to play for. He understands how punishing the regular season can be and he does not run his players into exhaustion like JVG.

Adding Phil should make it easier for us to attract good veteran players looking to win a championship.

I don't hate anyone. I know a myriad of Rocket fans strongly dislike Pippen and Malone. I feel PJ is an overrated, arrogant snob. Hiring Phil Jackson would truly test my loyalty to the Rockets.

    No rocket triangles, please.

Sure. If Les really want him too, he can make a good pitch.

Phil could be the world's favorite coach, leading Yao and Tmac to multiple titles. The triangle is the perfect set for our two finesse stars, and PJ gets the most out of role players. You might remember PJ made such "talents" as Scott Williams, Corie Blount, Bill Wennington, Luc Longley, Jim Paxon, B.J. Armstrong, and that punk Steve Kerr look good in big games. Same with the Lakers and marginal players.

How can you hate PJ's self-confidence more than Grump's negativity? I WANT Yao and Tmac to think they should beat anyone, anytime.

Maybe a boost of self confidence is what this team needs. I am wondering though .... is Houston ready for Phil Jackson? Phil Jackson came to shaq knowing with him as coach Shaq would be at his prime. Is Yao at that point yet? I know Phil Jackson would love to have mcgrady and all the talent he holds under his fingertips. I think PJ could rub some self confidence and some leadership into mcgrady. With the natures of both Mc Grady and Yao I feel that phil jackson won't have the problem of accidentally creating an uncoachable stubborn player like kobe. If Les has the chance to bring Phil J as the Rocket's head coach he better not hesitate not even once.

I think that PJ is the best coach for Yao & TMac and gives the Rockets the best chance to win multiple titles with these two stars. As such, it's a no brainer that we should hire him.
