Now I don't know if this has be before so my bad if it has.. but when we drafted Patterson, I was a little puzzled... why another forward? what use do we have for him when we clearly need a center and have an overwhelming amount of players to fill the SF and PF spots.

Maybe Morey is trying to use him as a trading chip so we could have a better shot at bosh, who was our guy from the beginning.

This is just a thought.. any ideas on how this could work or why it wouldn't?

Could be man.. you never know whats going on in DM's mind, so i just stop predicting, cuz I'm usually wrong. Let's see what happens...

Personally, I wanna keep PP, he seems like he could be a solid role player in the NBA.

Morey made it pretty clear he drafted Patterson because they really like him. Yes, if need be, he can be used in a sign and trade. But I don't think that's why he was drafted. He was drafted because they had him ranked the 6th best player in the draft. That's what Morey does. He adds the best talent available and sorts it out later.

this would make perfect sense in a way.

i mean we trade a prospect with a really bright future, expiring contracts and another good young player in budinger most likely.

    especially for bosh.

jeffries, battier, patterson, and budinger + pick for bosh + filler or something
    (my dream would be
jeffries, batttier, patterson + 1 ny pick and 1 houston pick for bosh)

    Why we do it? bosh.
why toronto does it? why not, 2 expiring, battier would probably be bought out , 1 great pf prospect and a kinda proven prospect in budinger. both have tremendous room to grow.

plus we would keep hill and scola, who i believe is a crucial piece for us to be a championship caliber team.

I dont think Ppat is trade bait. He is Landry's replacement and i think he will have a similar impact.

Even as a rookie, Landry was a game changer. I hated to see him go, but when i watch patterson, i see alot of the winning qualities that Landry has: toughness, Unselfish, willing to come off the bench and provide high energy and efficiency, goes after every lose ball, great finisher, good ft shooter.

just a solid draft pick. I think he is going to be in the plans for this season.

The more I do my homework on Patterson, the more I really like him. He reminds me of an Otis Thorpe with a jump shot. If he can come anywhere close to being a staple along those lines, it's a really nice pick.

the front court is our weakness. we got plenty of solid backups so the best position available should be on focus.

    ab/lowry
    martin/budinger/taylor
    ariza/battier or vice verse
    scola/hill/jeffries
    ming/hayes

i believe obviously our weakness is PF or C so patterson would be a solid addition. adelman can move hill/jeffries to center and patterson at PF

When the Rockets drafted Brooks we had 4 PGs.

Get off Bosh...at least until Thursday.

DM said he would try to replace Landry through the draft.
