With the way Aaron Brooks has been playing I believe that he's going to be the next T.J. Ford if not better. Reasons for comparing Him and T.J. :

    1. They're basically the same exact size, height and weight.
    2. They both are lighting fast
    3. Both can find ways to finish around the rim
    4. Both can shoot the ball

For this year, T.J. is averaging. 16ppg, 2.5rpg, with 4.5 apg on 32mpg and as I see it, if AB had minutes like Ford's, I'm sure he would be able to avg. numbers like that if not better.

They're basically the same players but I disagree with someone everytime I hear them say that Aaron Brooks isn't really a natural point guard and is really a unsized SG.
You don't hear people saying T.J. is really an undersized SG do you? What does it take now-a-days to be a natural PG?....10+ assist per game? If that's the case, then there aren't many "natural" PGs in the league and Rafer surely isn't one of them.

Aaron Brooks will be the next T.J. Ford.

we all want AB to solve our PG crisis, and still hope him to become 2nd TJ Ford.this season AB ave 8.8 pts,but ave 2.2 assists isn't enough, but I think he can become our best PG,lastest several games he played much better than Rafer Alston,he is promising guy, believe he will have a success career in Houston

As a rocket fan, of course I want AB to be a player like TJ Ford, but there is "big different point" between them

TJ Ford in his career, per 36 minutes averages 8.3 assists to Brooks 5.1, quite a difference.

Perhaps TJ Ford could be our TJ Ford?

Maybe, trading rafer and landry to get T.J who is liable to get injuried time after time. The biggest difference between T.J. and Aaron is that aron is a human while T.J. is a glassman. In addition, Aaron can dunk but can T.J.? Aaron is gonna be better than T.J. several years later, when T.J. get wasted due to injury.

Agreed. I like TJ Ford, think he's the picture of courage, and cringe every time he gets knocked down. AB is better in many parts of the game, and I hope he'll be a Rocket his entire career.

TJ is a much better passer, AB is a much better scorer...so he could be like our TJ in a sense that it proves you do not have to bulk up to be a starting PG in the NBA...but then that leaves RAFER as the backup.....well....that at least is a start.

As a Canadian, it's only natural for me to follow the Raptors every now and then. And let me tell you guys something. You do NOT want Brooks to be a Ford. TJ, sad to say, is a team cancer. Raps mostly lost when TJ had big numbers. But that's the Raptors situation, where they have balanced scoring. In our situation, where the scoring is relied mostly onto the big four, a TJ ford manning the team isn't the best idea. Let Aaron do what he's doing.

Why do you think Toronto wanted to out Ford so badly?
Not just for Calderon to produce...

You'll probably get your wish. I like the way Adelman is bringing Brooks along. When Brooks is competitive, he lets him play. When he's not, he gets benched. There's no throwing him to the wolves. As he gets more consistent, he'll get more minutes.

I think they are really similar, both are fast, small, and score first pg. Ford's court vision is not impressive either. In fact, this is the reason why the raptors keep Calderon and trade him. Of course, now, Ford has more experience and confidence than AB. Ford is a very confident player. Maybe sometimes he is over-confident!

Brooks is a very poor man's TJ Ford but his superior shooting makes up for some of it.

He could, in a year or two. He's good right now, but imo i still don't think he's as good as TJ.

No, not at all. T.J Ford is a natural PG, Aaron Brooks is a scoring PG like Allen Iverson. Aaron is questionable not even a PG.

Aaron Brooks is not a very good passer, he is athletic and fast but he is a scorer. He is more like Iverson than T.J Ford.
