This is from the latest chad ford article I am not sure if this has been posted if so I apologize. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=ford_chad&id=1839094 "The Clippers do have options however. They could attempt to trade a player or two to a team with cap space in an effort to get further under the cap. If the team traded Melvin Ely ($1.75 milion) and Chris Wilcox ($2.2 million) to teams with space, they could get far enough under the cap to sign Bryant to a six-year, $106.3 million deal -- the most any team (other than the Lakers) can sign him to. " Arent both wilcox and ely pretty big bodies to maybe be a backup... I was just wondering about this.
i thought the same thing when i read that article. we've got enough PFs on our roster, but maybe we could use one of them as a backup C. and maybe we can even get marko jaric or somebody with the rest of that trade exception.
From ESPN.com: Further down in the article it is suggested that the deal might not be finalized, plus it also suggests the suns will be in a similar situation because of the cap figure. This is the perfect time for the rockets to use the TE.I have not seen Ely play so someone please give us some thoughts, but other than him,I see this players as possible targets from the clippers/suns: Barbosa Clark(S&T) Ely Jaric Wilcox These are just the ones I thought were obtainable and could fit in with the rockets.
