Man, this OT has seen all the breaks go Houston's way, Championship level poise and play. So heartwarming to see.
After they took away the three at the buzzer, I thought they would be deflated in overtime. Especially on the road with Baylor having all that second half momentum. Sharp was the leading scorer today. Clearly he’s emerged as a reliable option. Roberts had another great game. Shead has deserved all the praise he gets, but Roberts has been leading this team, as well.
Roberts is the other un questioned captain/leader next to shead. Both do a ton for the younger guys and those behind them Roberts is also hurt. Hes going to play hurt all year. He gets his knee drained every 2/3 weeks
This is the post I meant to respond to. You called it. Our guys got it together and finished it in overtime. Great win.
I was sincerely surprised Baylor came back. They made some strides on defense today in the 2nd half that they may be able to build on.
I was too. I was out of town when the game started. Got back just before half time and watched it on DVR without commercials. Got caught up just as it was going into overtime. My first thoughts were that friggin Dunn is going to cost us another game. And how the hell did we let them get back in it. Then I realized we were playing a very talented and well coached team. If you give them an inch they will take a mile. Baylor started making their shots and Houston started playing like a team trying to run out the clock. But in the end we showed everyone that we can hit free throws when we need to. Where was Walker today? I heard one of the commentators saying he was not playing today but did not go into detail. He doesn't bring much on offense but seems like a better option on defense than Dunn. Sure glad we got out of this one with a win. Felt like we had to fight the Baylor Bears, along with their crowd, the refs, and the announcers were wanting us to get beat as well. Second game in a row we have been outrebounded. I am a little concerned about that. Other teams are adjusting to our style of play and CKS will need to come up with some adjustments of his own. The important thing is we figured out a way to win this game. We just beat #6 and #11 in the country in one week. What a great week. Probably never happened before for us. On to the next game Tues night at home against Cincinnati.
What happened to Walker? That does suck. Means we have to give Dunn more minutes. Walker was so versatile. Going to miss him diving on the floor for rebounds.
Sharp is an amazing player on the offensive end. Defensive end, he can't keep his man in front of him. That's why I think Sampson went with Dunn at the end of regular time but it backfired lol. Then dunn was never to be seen again after he gave up the and 1 situation.
Sharp is not the quickest but he competes Dunn routinely gets caught ball watching but no point complaining now since there is literally no one else with Walker done for the season We're so ****ing lucky that Mylik Wilson decided to stay
