Bet your friends that they cant eat a whole roll of mentos and drink a whole diet coke at the same time.. It's like the gallon challenge, it cant be done..
Oh yes, I remember that because some baseball player dared a batboy to do it. What is the time limit? Why is it impossible?
To pass a drug test once I downed a gallon of water mixed with Sur-Gel in under an hour. I was peeing all day but besides that nothing bad happened (Although I do not advise doing this because of the threat of hyponatremia). So why can you not do it with milk?
I think it has to do with lactose, even if you're not "Lactose Intolerant" there is still too much for anyone to hold down.. "I'm not a Doctor, but I play one on TV"
Milk isn't water, which just flows right through. Milk has lactose, which is a complex sugar that must go through the digestion process in the stomach. Combine the fact that the stomach can't produce enough enzymes to digest that much lactose in an hour plus the fact that the stomach can't hold a gallon of anything, and it's upchuck city. ...anybody ever tried to eat six saltine crackers in one minute?
without water, of course... I can barely get three. Those crackers suck up that saliva faster than Monica in the oval office...
I used this very experiment from that very website for my afterschool program... stevespangler has some pretty cool hands on science experiments for kids...
