Top team in Europe, probably good money, a chance to get into NBA if he proves something against the pros there. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wgdHjWPuCrI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wgdHjWPuCrI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I think he'll do well. He's a a legit 7-footer, and if you think about the progress he's made since his freshman year at St. Bonaventure, you've gotta believe he's willing to put in the work to improve.
Not a bad move. You know what they say: you can't teach size. If he spends a couple of years over there and works on his game, he can find his way in the NBA if there are a large number of teams looking for a big man.
The Maccabi contract is a great opportunity for Jeff. I don't think he could have aimed for much higher than that. He was my TA at Cornell and is a super nice guy but he is not NBA material. Yeah he is tall but there are so many other 7 footers who are much faster and more explosive than him.
