Is it me or does Brewer remind you a lot of Josh Howard. Both are 6'9'', Brewer is already a pretty great defender, and has a versatile game on offense, they really remind me of each other.

    Thoughts?

The comparison is appropriate. Obviously Brewer is a lot further along than Howard was at the same stage. Last season, I thought Brewer was their best player and best NBA prospect. I like Horford too but Brewer is the most likely Gator to make an impact in the NBA, IMO. Noah has some potential also but his skills on offense are very poor compared to those guys.

Brewer's length on defense also reminds me of Tayshaun Prince, but he's also way ahead of Prince at the same stage. He completely humiliated Afflalo, again.

Yep, i thought about this during the tourney also. They play alike.

Would be nice to pick up if he doesn't go early for the Rockets.

if he can bulk up by like 20 or so pounds he would be devastating defenseively

if we drafted him then we could play:

    TMac
    Brewer
    Shane
    Chuck
    Yao

how defensively dominating would tat be?

ofcourse Tmac would get tired taking the ball upcourt since nobody else could do so and would suck majorly on offense. :D

umm...i dont think his offensive game is as good as howards. he doesnt create off the dribble as well, doesnt handle the ball as well, just isnt as polished all around.

i think he's a more athletic battier. he hits open shots, defends, is physical, can pass the ball, does alot of little things to help a team.

First off, although he is a Maverick  , I think Josh Howard is one of the best players in this league, so its hard to say Brewer is as good, I'm just saying they have similar styles.

I also think that Brewer could be better than Battier. He is less muscular than Shane, however his wingspan, length and quickness is better, and he blocks shots and can run and jump thru the roof. On offense, Brewer is much quicker and is able to slash to the rim and finish, whereas Shane really has zero offensive game besides a wide open corner 3.

Awesome player. Best player on the Florida team. It would be great if we can get our hands on him, but as mentioned, there is no way in hell he would fall to us. Wierder things have happened though. So I'll keep my fingers crossed. If not, Acie Law or Brandon Rush sound like good picks to me.

I really think it's a fair comparrison. I love Corey Brewer. They guy has nice size and length. He can hit the outside shot, create his own shot and play great defense on the perimeter.

He is going to be a quality stud role player on some NBA team. A star? Tough to say, but Josh Howard is a great comparrision.

While we are at it with comparrisons, how about Al Horford and Elton Brand? Horford's got some nice polished low post moves and is actually more mobile then you would think for a big man.

Noah and perhaps Marcus Camby. Noah still has a lot to work on, on his offensive game, but he is very skilled. He is a driven player so I think he will push himself to improve his game.

This Florida team front line has 3 studs. Pretty impressive. I think all 3 will do well in the NBA because they ALL have high motors. They are driven to succeed.

Unlike Brewer, who is ahead of where Howard was his last year in college, Noah is behind Camby and Horford isn't close to what Elton Brand was. Those are good comparisons, though I can't see Noah being strong enough to ever play center in the NBA.

Good comparison but I actually think that why Josh has become a good shooter Brewer is already a better one and probably a better athlete (by a slim margin). He's definitely more of a leaper and has a longer wingspan. In terms of saying he has more upside then Howard, that's tough b/c of how good Josh already is. Brewer is lotto regardless

I don't think Noah is an NBA player AT ALL. He just runs around and acts like a little b**** for 40 mins, and doesn't really have any skills and I hope he gets pwn3d by Oden tommorow.

Horford on the other hand, is no Elton Brand, but he is gonna be a solid PF in the NBA, and he is top 10 along with Brewer. 6'10'', great rebounder, very strong, had good range and some decent post moves.

Joakim Noah sucks. He's a hustle guy so we will stick in the NBA but he's not what people thought he was. Cue Denis Green....

we can hope for derrick byars from vandy. he could be battier's backup and provide good minutes. however, we need a scorer off the bench. luther isnt the answer. we could really use morris almond as a 6th man.

I would like the Rockets to pick Morris Almond if he is available. He can shoot with good range.
