NBATV is reporting that the Kings just waived guard Corey Alexander. Does anyone think he could help? I am not too familiar with his game. I'm thinking he's a younger guard who has a pretty good FG%.
If it's Corey Alexander, I think he was a long and lean shooting guard drafted by the Bulls 5-6 years ago out of Oregon State. I'll go check now and report back.... EDIT: It was Corey Benjamin-- take right before Nazr Mohammed and about a dozen picks before Cuttino Mobely. Courtney Alexander started at Virginia, was dismissed, and finished at Fresno State I believe. He's had great potential for a half-dozen years now.
yah sign him up. I remember reading an article that the only reason the Kings were thinking of cutting him was because he was just injured at the wrong time and never got to really evaluate him in their system. He would be a nice IR pickup, better than that 3rd string pg we have there now.
Courtney Alexander is a SG with range but is a volume shooter IMO. He has had severe injuries. He should come back when he is fully fit but I don't think he can help us much currently even though we need shooters badly.
Here's my break down of Courtney Alexander , I used to watch him play a lot in Washington. - Pretty good shooter - Has the atheletic ability to drive - Young and still have untab potential - average defender, actually not that good. Not a point guard though, he's kind of like the Mo Taylor we had last year, scoring in bunches, could be a scoring weapon off the bench
What this team needs is a freakin point guard... someone who can pass to a big man, and set team plays. Another free wheeling, shoot first selfish a$$ who couldn't make it on another team that we were trying to emulate last year isn't going to cut it.
I remember wanting Cory Alexander some years ago. Back in the days when we desperately needed a PG. Oh wait...
I really like courtney. I think he would be a wonderful backup to T-mac since we dont have a legit one! pleeeeassseee get him for cheap. He could be a Bobby Jackson type player.
