again.. I preface this by saying I heard it on the radio.... but Richard Justice was on Dallas ESPN radio and said that Cooper has lost the team.. especially the key veterans and that some of them actually wear t-shirts that say "REALLY?" and everytime Cooper makes a decision in a game.. they point at the shirts and say.... "REALLY?" any news of this in Houston ????
Justice is an idiot. Cooper is an idiot. McLane is an idiot. The Astros have a lot of issues beyond Cooper's poor managerial skills.
Justice has been on about Cooper being hated by the team all year. When they went on their little run he stopped and started in with his "Guy is overachieving, got to give him credit, good manager" shtick, and now that they suck again he's back to his "team hates Cooper" routine.
Richard Justice is a piece of crap who plays both sides of the fence like no other. His writing is nothing more than a soapbox for him to spout off all of his personal vendettas he has against teams, players, and coaches who have frozen him out. Him and Cooper have never gotten along since Coop's first day on the job, and Justice has had it out for him ever since then. I'm not saying that Cooper is a great manager, or that the team HASN'T tuned him out....all I'm saying is that Justice has lost all credibility with me ever since his personal mob riot against Rick Smith. The man just flat out lacks professionalism, accountability, and scruples.....you know, the 3 things that usually make for a good sports writer.
One thing this team has been good at the last couple of years is making excuses for poor play via the t-shirt. You can't take that away from them.
I know....whoever their "Witty T-Shirt" coach is needs a promotion. I think Coop needs to bust out his "You're Cut" hat, along with his "Yes" pants. That way, whenever a player points to his "Really?" shirt, Coop can point to his "You're Cut" hat. Then, even if the player points to his "Really?" shirt again, Coop can then retaliate with a downward nod to his "Yes." pants. God our team sucks.
Dick Justice has been going on and on about this all season...not news (though the t-shirt thing is). Justice is a total flopper who lets personal opinions and vendettas impact his mediocre columns and blog...however he does have a lot of "sources" when it comes to the Stros. Texans and Rockets...not so much
if this is true, i'm embarassed to be rooting for these guys. not as embarassed as they should be for how ****ty, they've been playing, but embarassed all the same.
Justice has been dead on with rockets before. He knew about the artest tmac problems and other rockets lr issues. I could easily see this being true.
Precisely. The same as the whole "Bud killed us" t-shirts last season. Grow freaking up. Nothing like a grown man being paid millions of dollars to play a child's game sluffing off as a little tantrum. I had zero respect for the whole "Bud killed us" crap last year, and if this nonsense is true I am similarly disappointed. And I would say to the face of any Astro from Berkman to Coste to Manzella who particpates in this folly: "Grow up and work hard like a man you freaking titty baby."

Coop should have been fired a while ago. He sucks at a manager. His decisions make no sense, and how do you mess up your lineup card. That is embarrassing.
