I was just trying to tell my friend that I'm the loudest person at the Rocket games. And speaking about that reminded me of something that happend back in 97 or 98.

We were playing the Sonics in laptop. The whole game we were getting an ASS whooping. Dream and Clyde were injured, and Charles was f@cking around on the court. Never have I seen an uglier game in my life. Now I believe in supporting my team whether they are good or not. But if they dont even try to win or play rite, then it annoys the hell out of me.

So I go down rite behind the Rocket bench and start yelling at them. Trying to get em riled up (everyone had left by the end of third quarter, so i was rite behind the bench). I called all their ASSES lazy and told them what I thought about their perfomance during that game. I was especially tough on our Chuckster. I knew he was listening to me, but he tried to ignore me by putting a towel on his head and pretending not to care. I told them that the comets and Cythia Cooper would whoop their ass if they kept on playing like that.

Well the next game (it was on the road i think), they beat the hell out of Denver or some other team. And during that game Calvin Murphy announced on tv that "some crazy fan from last nite gets credit for tonites game. He was yelling at the Rockets about how cynthia cooper can school all of them).

So I can be one of the few who can actually say, that I have personally helped the Rockets win a game. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Pretty cool huh?

This is by far NOT the coolest thing that ever happened to me,
but one time I arrived really early at a Rockets game and Richard Petruska was warming up so a friend and I just started yelling...
"Petruska for President, Petruska for President"
    and then he acknowledged.

    Thats it.

The coolest thing that's ever happened to me is that when the Rockets came to Utah to play the Jazz I went to the hotel they were staying at and I was having lunch with a friend on the Rockets and then Francis came over to talk to him and Steve said a few words to me but I barely spoke. Mostly because I was in awe. Plus, I am a huge Barkley fan and he signed a drawing that I drew of him. The coolest thing I have is a Rockets mini-ball that is signed bey the 2000 Rockets (Charles, Steve, Dream, Cat, and the rest of the team.)

Besides the obvious things like: being born, getting married, being at the hospital when my nephews were born, watching my brother graduate from college, etc

    -----------------

My Dad and I used to go fishing every once in a while. Every time we went I'd always try to catch a bigger fish or more fish than him. It never happened.

Then one day we were fishing offshore mostly for kingfish. It was getting late in the day and we had done okay. Then I got a bite and hooked into this huge fish. It fought and fought and fought. I thought it was some 200lb monster. Well, it turned out that it was only a 45 or so pound kingfish, but when I had gone to set the hook, I yanked it out of the fish's mouth. Luckily for me (not so much for the fish), the hook set in it's dorsal fin. Now, kingfish don't have huge dorsal fins, nor is that the strongest part of their body. But, having the hook set there I was unable to "turn" him as he fought. It took about 2 hours to get him in the boat.

So, there I was all smiles thinking I had finally caught the bigger fish. About 20 minutes later my Dad decided to call it quits and we started reeling all the lines in. Everything was in except for one line. My Dad goes to reel it in, but it doesn't move. We both think he's caught on a rock or more likely a piece of one of the oil rigs out there. So, he goes to break the line by putting his thumb on the reel to hold the line tight, and just yanks the hell out of it. But, just as his "yank" is reaching it's apex, the line just starts disappearing from the reel. So, did a patch of the skin on his thumb too. I had to manuever the boat around to keep the fish from taking all the line and about an hour and a half later, my Dad pulls up this 65 lb kingfish. It was over 5 ft long and just looked amazing.

Needless to say I still haven't ever caught a bigger fish or more fish than him yet....

    --------------------

Carl "Tuffy" Rhodes used to play for the Astros. He also used to come up the the Post Oak YMCA where I used to work. My friend and I sometimes played ball with him. He was super fast, but not much of an outside shooter. We weren't best friends, but we got to know him pretty well, and we'd alwasy ask him about how he was playing and about how the team was playing.

Anyways, four of my friends and I went on a road trip to Florida to see the 'Stros at Kissimme, go to Disney World, and go to Daytona Beach for Spring Break.

We go to the game, and who do we see right before the game starts but Tuffy. We yell, "Hey, Tuffy!". He looks up with the most amazed look on his face, like "What the heck are those guys doing here?!?" So, the game is going along and Rhodes isn't playing so we start chanting, "We want Tuffy. We want Tuffy" for like two innings. After the second inning, Tuffy comes out of the dugout inbetween innings and says, "Guys, cut that out. You're gonna get me in trouble."

Later, he does get in the game and ends up getting a hit. We still were chanting "Tuffy, Tuffy, Tuffy" the whole time he was in the field or at the plate.

    That was pretty cool.

    ----------------------

One of the coolest things that has ever happened to me was being able to go on a road trip with my two brothers to California and back. What made it so cool, besides the fact that my brothers and I are pretty close and this was our first real road trip together was that my middle brother was on the heart transplant list, and that is never a fun time. He had some kind of virus that attacked his heart and just needed another one, at age 20. Supposedly, it is a very rare virus, and the best bet is that he caught it during surgery after a auto accident were he was a passenger and was pinned in the truck, had to get cut out, life-flighted to Hermann, and had to have surgery to remove his stomach from his lung.

We started here in Houston and our first stop was Colorado Springs, because I had a friend who lived there. We got to go to the "Garden of the Gods" where they have all kinds of real cool rock formations. It was also the first time any of us had seen mountians too. After that we went to the Grand Canyon, which is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Then we went to Vegas. We didn't have much of a "gambling" budget, but we got to check out all the cool casinos. Then we went to Los Angeles and checked out Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, the "Hollywood" sign, etc. Then we went to San Diego, which is an awesome city, great weather, very clean. Then we made the long haul back to Houston, stopping only in El Paso to sleep.

My brother eventually did get his heart transplant. He cut it pretty close too. He had been in ICU for a couple of weeks and didn't have much longer. But, someone in Missouri was kind enough to be an organ donor and it made it all the way to St. Luke's Hospital here in the Medical Center. The heart was on ice a little longer than the doctor would've liked, and it took a little longer to get it started, but it did, and he's doing pretty damn good now. Graduated from U of H with an Bachelor's in Accounting and has a nice convertible mustang GTO.

Oh, I got a ton of 'em. But, I'll let someone one else have a turn for a while.

    Basketball related:

I was at a game and I actually got chosen to go down and play the half-time competition. There was about 20 people and we had to throw a little basketball into a hoop that was on the head of a guy riding round on a unicycle. I won and got a bunch of exciting stuff!

Dang. With all these great stories my story sounds like crap. [IMG] Well, let's see. Coolest thing. Well, I've had quite a few cool dreams but some of my fondest ones are when I met MJ, Kobe, and Babe Ruth. Don't ask me why. Then I had one dream in which I was in a cruise boat, surrounded by a bunch of other people. It was like a concentration camp, but in a cruise boat. Hitler was like up there somewhere driving and there were a bunch of gaurds. Then 2 of my friends started making trouble so they got escorted off the boat by 2 Nazi Officers. I was left with in the boat with only one of my friends who's like 6'2". So i came up with a plan to escape the boat. We were docked somewhere in Europe because i could see that big broken down stadium looking place (I think it's called the Coliseum) Anyways, I found an opening on the boat so i told my friend to come with me and we creeped into it and when we came out we were in that big coliseum. Now that was pretty cool.

The coolest thing hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm going to be a famous writer first. My pen name will be Christopher Houston so keep your eye out for that name. My first great work will be called "Curious Products of Nature". My writing will then shove me into the spotlight. And I'll write a book describing a new philosphy of Goverment called "Libre". I'll be President of the U.S. because of the second book. Mark my words, and pray for me, for this much confidence could be my undoing!!

the money thing reminded me of my greatest bet. As a joke I bet a friend 40-1 that the Reds would sweep the world series before the playoffs started. The A's were swept. Thank you Billy Hatcher! My friend crapped his pants.

My greatest and worst fantasy trade all in one. I traded Magic johnson to my friend (As soon as I found out he had HIV). I felt guilty a little. I got Brad Daugherty in exchange. Only to find out Brad Daugherty suffered from Virtigo!!! Crime never pays.
