A few songs to listen to: The Music - "Take The Long Road And Walk It" Jefferson Starship - "White Rabbit" Red Hot Chilli Peppers - "Can't Stop" The US Naval Hymn Chevelle - "Closure"
Joni Mitchell: The Circle Game James Taylor: Sweet Baby James Harry Chapin: Corey's Coming George Benson: I Believe Hey, DuncanIdaho, you never answered my question: where do you get those unusual quotes you often conclude your posts with?
Don't really understand what you're asking for, but some cool current "mainstream" songs I've heard recently T.A.T.U. "Everything She Said" - I guess this is Russia's version of a "teen pop group." Two underage girls singing about being lesbians. Anyways, the song rocks! DMX "X Gon' Give it to Ya" - I don't even if know if this can be called rap. It doesn't really have any flow, just DMX barking out some tough guy lyrics, but I'll be damned if it doesn't psyche me up!
Very good debut album by this band. Next big band out of Britian? Possibly. The singer sounds like Robert Plant on some songs. Thus many people compare them to Led Zepplin (gone electronica). Their music is guitar driven with keyboards and drums. Some other songs from The Music that should get mention: "Getaway", "Float", "Turn Out The Lights" (Sounds like early Zepplin)
I always thought this was a cool theme song for a TV show. Who can be the first to identify the show?
Don't Dream It's Over (cover of Crowded House?) - Sixpence None The Richer I heard it on the radio and have been listening to it ever since.
for gods sake, man....it was JEFFERSON AIRPLANE who sang "White Rabbit" Jefferson Starship sang such dreadful crap like "We Built This City on Rock and Roll" trust me, there is a difference.
If you like to rock: The WiLDHEARTS: "Nita Nitro" "I Wanna Go Where the People Go" "Nothing Ever Changes but the Shoes" "29 x the Pain" "TV Tan" "My Baby is a Head****" "Turning American" For openers.
Actually, it was Starship that sang that dreadful crap. Jefferson Starship sang songs such as Miracles Jane Find Your Way Back Count on me With you Love Jefferson Starship was the more mellow 70s version of Jefferson Airplane. Except in the early 80s, they started to rock again. Starship was the mid-80s version, and they simply sucked. Period.
Download the video. Holy ****! Me Too. that song is great. My fav right now has got to be "She fell in love with a Drummer" by Wilco. Anyone heard it?
They aren't hot, but I admit exploiting lesbianism (I doubt they are lesbians or even bi) to get a ticket out of Russia was genious on their part.
From the Dune series. Mateo: My mistake, a simple mistake. I love "We Built This City" by the way... Historians exercise great power and some of them know it. They recreate the past, changing it to fit their own interpretations. Thus, they change the future as well. --Leto II, His Voice from Dar-es-Balat Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty. --The Coda Our ancestor, Assur-nasir-apli, who was known as the cruelest of the cruel, seized the throne by slaying his own father and starting the reign of the sword. His conquests included the Urumia Lake region, which led him to Commagene and Khabur. His son received tribute from the Shuites, from Tyre, Sidon, Gebel and even from Jehu, son of Omri, whose very name struck terror in thousands. The conquests which began with Assur-nasir-apli carried arms into Media and later into Israel, Damascus, Edorn, Arpad, Babylon and Umlias. Does anyone remember these names and places now? I have given you enough clues: Try to name the planet. --The Stolen Journals
