As far as I understand it, the current state of the art of cloning is fairly primitive. It sounds like these guys may introduce some subtle gene defect ( which appears to happen in some form or another in almost all clones AFAIK, and not the same faults found in normal reproduction ) into the gene pool of the wild herds of the species. The success rate for embryo implantation sounds horrid, 2/45, though I think those doing human embryos choose some number like eight or so, hoping one will make it. The main objection some folks have to this sort of solution is that it really doesn't solve the problem ( which may be intractable for some species ) of not enough habitat to support their way of life due to human encroachment.

This is just amazing. Almost unbelievable to comprehend. If this thing lives I'd say you have one of the most impressive achievements in the history of man. The only question will be who is going to parent this thing. A Goat? A human can only milk it so long before it become too strong and starts kicking. They may have to move to a goat or something. Animals without parents have been studied in great depth and most them are reckless and wild. Much like human kids with the same problem. So it makes you wonder if now you have created a whole species without and leaders. Or will nature overcome. And some of these creatures will naturally lead the others.
