You can still do that. You will have to convert to wav first, then convert it to mp3. Windows media converts from cda to wma, but I'm not sure about to mp3.
I don't think you can go from .wma to .mp3, but I go around that by doing this: 1. Download the free Musicmatch Jukebox 2. Using Windows Media Player, make a regular audio CD. I use a rewritable CD so I can blank it later. 3. Open Musicmatch Jukebox and rip the CD you just made. It makes .mp3's. It take a bit of time, and is a pain, but it is free... Hope that helps.
