    Had a conversion with a current SuperSonic player out here in Seattle, who oddly enough the Rockets play tonite.

    His thoughts:

    1) We have a good, but very tough coach.

    2) Our guys were spoiled by having Rudy as a coach - undisciplined

    3) Francis may NOT want to stay here and play for VG.

    4) On the possibility of Barry going to Houston: He said it was up to the Sonic's GM. Gave no indication of Barry's interest other than that.

    5) No prediction on tonight's game.

    A very intelligent guy.

    Pretty short-sighted statement IMO. Whoever the player is, he obviously runs in a pretty selective social circle. When Ray Allen and his wife have their new baby, this guy can stop over to say "Hi"....99% of the state of Washington can't make that claim.

    I have been thinking the same thing.

    If Steve really wanted to screw the Rox on the way out, he could demand a trade thereby decreasing what the Rox could get in return.

    Hopefully he doesn't do it. At least if they trade him I'd like to get something decent in return.

    But it is interesting to note that Rat Van Gundy doesn't hold all the cards.

    Why do you care what the rockets get in return for Francis? You're just a SOF anyways and will end up following Francis's new team and wouldn't give a damn about the rockets anymore.

    no one wants to put a players identity like that out there.. you never know who's reading or following this board. I've heard rumors that Les A. and even some other Rox personnel read this board... I dont know if thats consistently (probably not) but hey it does happen.

    anyways.. good to keep that kind of stuff confidential or you may never get anymore tidbits.

    Well that's good enough for me. I'm calling the chron right now and telling them that inside NBA souces are saying that Steve does NOT want to play under Van Gundy. ;)
