I'm doing a research paper and need a good controversial topic to do it on. Any suggestions? I wanted to do Evolution vs Creationism or something dealing with religion, like how Catholics are hypocritical, but the teacher said no. ------------------
If the teacher won't let you write about something like that, then there is something seriously wrong with that teacher. ------------------ WIN NOW! The Protrolls.com message boards! Hey, I've got posts now! Feel free to join in the trolling fun! Protrolls.com!
why would the teacher say no ? Is it overdone ? That would be a good college topic. If you're ballsy enough, do one of genetic differences between the different races..... ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
i am sure that whatever religion you have faith in has no hypocrisy.. why is it that people can pick on the catholics and it is okay yet i make a remark about baptists or jews and its so wrong? ------------------ "no matter how good she looks someone... somewhere..is tired of her sh*t"
hehehe ... she wanted you to have a challenge. As my wise 10th grade teacher said ... choose a topic with the easy subject and lots of facts to back you up. You don't have to agree with it. ------------------ Im too drunk to walk ... Im driving home!
tpl, any particular reason you singled out Catholics? Do you feel safest picking on the big guys or did you have a bad experience as a Catholic? BTW, If you're supposed to write on something controversial, why did your teacher say no to the religious topic? Religion is easily the most controversial topic around. ------------------ women love me, fish fear me.
How about a research paper on whether homosexuality is a choice or "something you are born to be?" ------------------ stop posting my damn signature

I think she thinks that some other students' parents will complain to the schoolboard or something, and this teacher's job is alreday in jeopardy from what I heard, so she wouldn't want anything else going against her. Don't take too much offense at my comment about Catholics. I just believe that there are some aspects of Catholicism that are wrong and I wanted to share that with the class and teacher, who ironically enough is Catholic. I just wanted to discuss many things about religion in general. There are so many things I wanted to talk about that were related to religion/biblical factuality, but she denied my every time I asked. Achebe, I'm not Catholic, and I never have had a bad experience with Catholicism, but if you look throughout history, it's hard not to single them out for some of the things that they have done. I agree, religion is easily the most controversial, but she's just stubborn. I'll ask again, any suggestions for topics? ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited May 03, 2001).]
This is a very controversial topic with lots of information. I did a paper on the Bell(?) Curve in high school. Less controversial but my kinda topic: personal ethics of politicians. Again, lots of information and you can offend Dems, Reps, and Indy's with ease. Maybe your teacher wants you to do a paper on an interesting topic more than controversial. If you gotta take a stand and defend your point of view, it might piss a few people off no matter the choice of topic. ------------------
What about the moral ramifications of Cloning? ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
Can't do cloning, because someone else is already doing it and two people can't do the same topic. I'd be interested in doing the race topic. Do you know where I could find some info on the subject? I think the most interesting topics are the most controversial ones, and I agree, she may think that I'll piss some people off with what I will tell them. ------------------

I would suggest not following anyone's advice about a topic because it would not be your own. It would be intewllectually irresponsible to have people come up with ideas that you would then take as your own. ------------------ Whitey will pay.
Whether or not Rimmy has a personality?? would be a very controversial topic ------------------ Pollution is Killing the Earth..... and the main rockets forum!
The problem is the original topic I wanted to cover was deemed too controversial by my teacher. Also, I don't see where you are coming from with me not using suggested topics. All I want is a premise for my essay. I'm not going to plagiarize another person's ideas, but rather make my own interpretation of the topic. Most topics that are considered controversial have been debated upon time and time again, so in reality there are no original topics to write about. That being said, you can still use a well known controversy and be original in what you say. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited May 03, 2001).]
