    Like I said earlier, Riley deserves Exec of the year for pulling this off. Now he is trying to squeeze Haslem back on the team...AMAZING.

    So they're pretty much going to be paying a boatload of luxury tax for the next 6 years.

    chadfordinsider LeBron & Bosh start at $14.5M ... $2M less starting salary than max. Wade starts at $14.2M. Overall each took about $15M less

    Morey was right but wrong at the same time.

    He was right in saying that big time free agents almost always leave in a sign and trade.

    The thing he forgot to factor in was that other team usually does not want to take back salary even if it is expiring. What they want is picks and Trade exceptions.

    We have a shot to make some moves at the febuary deadline this year. But this proves it once and for all nothing beats pure cap space during summer free agency.

    To funny...

    STEIN_LINE_HQ Addendum to @chadfordinsider info: All three Heaters have Early Termination Option after Year 4. Meaning we can do this again in July 2014

    Leave it to durvasa to point out the costs.

    Let me be the one to point out how much revenue this team will make.

    They still probably won't net you the same income that Yao brings to the Rockets.

    If the three stars got 14 mil there should be 15 mil to sign other people.

    By my amateur calculations, the Heat should have about this much cap space:

    Salary Cap = 58.044

    Minus

    Lebron = 14.5
    Bosh = 14.5
    Wade = 14.2
    James Jones Guarantee = 1.86
    Chalmers = .854
    Eight minimum cap holds = 3.788

    About 8.3 million in cap space.

    Damn. That might be enough money to build up a decent set of role players. At least enough for an 8 deep rotation. I didn't think they'd pull it off, but the combination of the Big 3 signing for less than the max and Cleveland/Toronto agreeing to Sign and Trades gives Miami a lot more money to work with.

    I got to think that Miami is going to hit the ground running and be a force right away.

    They've already commited 5 million to Mike Miller right? That leaves them about 4 millions to get two serviceable players. Seems doable.

    they were dumb to sign for 6 years. Unless they get injured they can easily get a 4 year contract after this one.

    the heat will make way more than any luxury tax they're going to pay. the ads, revenue, increased ticket prices... trust me.

    ticket prices for heat games will be lakers/knicks-like.

    Huh?

    I guess that extra $30 million the media was barking about was not all that important.
