If the Bulls matches our offer, what do you think is DM's backup plan?

Suicide? Seriously, it seems things haven't gone according to plan since trade deadline 2011.

Maybe he goes for Kwame or Camby to be another band-aid.

Maybe he goes to the Bulls and tries to trade for Noah... that is, if Noah isn't traded outta town first to someone else.

I wonder if the Bulls have brought up the idea of trading Noah to Houston now that Houston has offered Asik this contract?

The Bulls could say "look, we are gonna trade away Noah and some other guys and match Asik anyways and you guys are gonna be left with nobody. So why not give us something for Noah then you have a center and we have a center. Otherwise, we trade Noah to someone else, match on Asik, and you guys are left out in the cold".

That's what I would do if I ran the Bulls. Houston has some players the Bulls could use. If the Bulls don't match then they lose a center and get nothing back in return. By trading Noah, they could keep the center they really want and get something else back in trade...

hopefully no one...since this season is wasted anyways, might as well get a high pick next season....obviously trading up for one does not work.

Gilbert Arenas Rule almost assuredly prevents them from signing Asik. They will just let him walk, and Asik wasn't Plan A so, I guess Plan C would be develop the youngs.

It will be tough for the Bulls to keep Asik. If they are going to trade us Noah, it has to be in such a way that they cut their payroll by, say, $3 million a year.

Still, my guess is we'll end up with Asik or Noah.

I'm half surprised he didn't chase Hawes first. I've got to believe they've had conversations with his agent and have verbally extended an offer in the event the Bulls match.
