Unlike the Suns who were utterly lost without Steve Nash, Rockets played well enough to win, only to be robbed of a win by bad calls. A tough loss but this is not the time to moan and mourn. The game in SA will prove if they are the real deal. Winning or losing matters less than how they play. If the Rockets were to fold like the Suns without Nash, they are a bunch of pretenders. If they play with passion and desire to win, they are a team of contenders. I believe the Rockets will be fired up to play an inspired game. Hopefully, JVG will let them play the whole game instead of conceding early if they fall behind by a large margin. Go Rockets! [Perhaps this post should be in the official game thread..]
I think San Antonio lost a total of one game this season at home. I hardly think if we lose tonight to them that we are pretenders. Last nights game was full of bad calls but just because a team looses two in a row doesn't mean its a bad team, just like just because a team wins 8 in a row its going to win a title. Patience is the key... we'll know just how good this team is by the end of the season.
we need SUra to win, pure and simple. If MOtay was traded for a PG or DA, perhaps it could work, though
Geez, Sura is a huge loss, but I don't think his injury really makes or breaks us as contenders. It hurts, but no breaks. We are contenders as long as Yao keeps playing like did last night. He was aggressive, didn't take any BS from their big guys, passed well out of doube teams, and seemed to be somewhat a leader on the floor. Not so much his stats, but his presence as THE big man on the floor is what will determine if we are contenders or not.
I don't think tonights game makes one bit of difference if we are contenders or not. Nor do i think the loss of Sura does either. Plain and simple...we will not contend for the title - this team is not good enough to win the title. I just don't see it. We need a few more pieces and they're not sitting on IR.
