Anybody got feedback on living in the trendy inner loop spots like the Heights, Midtown, West University, Memorial Park, Rice Military, etc. or in the Galleria Uptown area?

I'm not going to pay $200,000 for an 800 sq ft condo and I hate those new townhouses where they face each other with everybody sharing the same driveway, and the garage can only fit small cars. I do like that alot of the Heights and other inner loop areas have no HOA or maintenance fees.

Just curious of those who live in those areas.

Look into the Old Sixth Ward. Though it may be "discovered" now.

I live downtown but if you don't want a condo or a townhouse look around the TC Jester/Ella area around loop 610. Places like Oak Forest are still reasonable and you can get a nice house + a nice yard and still have money in your budget to do renovations.

Houses there will increase at a higher rate than inflation + your taxes/insurance which = a good deal
