This is chilling. While conservatives cry that they can't go to college campuses and say bigoted things, they certainly can force censorship of media

Older heterosexual women who tend to be more conservative watch the Hallmark channel. It was not the target market to air these commercials for.

I mean have you seen the crap on that network? It's all the same plot.

    Christ. "The LGBT agenda???"

It's a lighthearted commercial featuring two people in love... making a lifelong commitment to one another!

How do people vote Republican with crap like this? I was turned off when I was 12 years old as I realized some people actually cared what people did with their love life and who they were attracted to.

Keep owning the libs I guess.

I knew some people who worked at spiritclips.

They make most of their money from people who pay a monthly sub just to watch ten or so movies over and over again.

    Emotional p*rn without the sleeze.

Ben... annoying and often disagreeable imo, brings up some good points. I think he discusses a somewhat similar issue with conservatives pushing moral values. And it's recent.

When is it OK to petition a media company to remove content deemed offensive by certain groups of people?

Pretty sure it's always ok to boycott a channel if you find what they are advertising offensive. I'm sure the viewers of an LGBT network would have a problem if Chick fil a was running spots during their shows.

Here is an idea... turn it off or switch the channel.

Hallmark says it will "reinstate" TV ads featuring same-sex couple after outcry

    BY JORDAN FREIMAN
    DECEMBER 15, 2019 / 10:51 PM / CBS NEWS

The Hallmark Channel on Sunday moved to reinstate ads featuring a same-sex couple that had been removed from the cable network. The decision came after considerable backlash over the initial decision to stop airing the ads from the wedding-planning company Zola.

"The Crown Media team has been agonizing over this decision as we've seen the hurt it has unintentionally caused," Hallmark CEO Mike Perry said in a statement Sunday night. "Said simply, they believe this was the wrong decision."

"Hallmark will be working with GLAAD [Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation] to better represent the LGBTQ community across our portfolio of brands," the statement continued. "The Hallmark Channel will be reaching out to Zola to reestablish our partnership and reinstate the commercials."

Perry also used the statement to apologize, saying, "Our mission is rooted in helping all people connect, celebrate traditions, and be inspired to capture meaningful moments in their lives. Anything that detracts from this purpose is not who we are. We are truly sorry for the hurt and disappointment this has caused."

It's unclear whether Zola will continue airing ads on the The Hallmark Channel, but they noted they are "relieved" by these recent updates.
