You my friend are the proud owner of the only complete game and shutout by an astros sp this year.

Go out and celebrate like there's no tommorrow, Kirk, you've earned it.

It's about time an Astros starting pitcher went the distance. Nice job by Saarloos on the CG shutout.

The best pitch in baseball is the change-up. Ask Trevor Hoffman, Greg Maddux, Mike Hampton, heck even Nelson Cruz. Saarloos has an incredible change. This is great. He's nice guy to have on the staff to mix it up a little bit from the flame-throwers like Oswalt, Miller, Hernandez, and Redding. Reminds me of a better, younger Dave Mlicki a little bit.

A very similar pattern of events to what Kirk experienced in Round Rock. Get pounded early on, then be lights out the rest of the way. We could use that, the Cards aren't letting up.

Now I'm not saying I doubt the kid, but I'd like to see him do it again before we start talking about adding him permanently to the rotation. Everyone gets lucky every once in a while.

Complete game shutouts against a major league club is not luck.

A younger Mlicki or a Shane Reynolds?! I hope he's another Shane! We already have the "flame throwers", so what we need in the rotation is the "crafty" side of pitching. I hope Saarloos is the one!:)
