ANd people wonder why I hate politicians....these panty waisted a-holes come out every other November or summer and flood by TV with more garbage commericials with false promises and things I don't really care about it. Vote Democratic, vote republican, get raped by taxation either way. Pass laws I don't really agree with, while I am chastised for not voting for any you. Or criticize for not voting for the right one, okay. I understand I am fool for not caring about more important things, like child abuse, justifiable taxations, keeping the borders protected, government waste, and etc. Yet, these effete and overpaid dead-beats are voting on a college football playoff system.

Im guessing you like BCS. This is from ESPN news, do you think theyll ****ing air news about the voting on abortion or something? Everbody wants BCS changed, only half the people want abortion banned. When theres a controversial issue it takes time, and BCS isnt a controversy because everybody ****ing hates it

I don't need to guess that the point of his post went completely over your head.

I don't think that's his point. His point is why is Congress involved in these matters?

You don't honestly think congress should be spending time worrying about college football, do you?

I hope this is just one idiot suggesting this bill and the other people are actually spending time on things that matter.

This is AWESOME news.....those danged Presidents of the greedy universities forgot their place.

A playoff will earn more money than the bowls and draw tons more interest.

Ya I don't understand. All the presidents want that BCS money as if they couldn't bring in money any other way.

Some say the season wont be as popular since every game no longer matters so much. Wouldn't it actually be more interesting because the teams that lose (most of them) will still maintain interest?

Have you ever seen how much downtime there is in Congress? It's not like they are going to (nor should they be) pass bills left and right all day. Adding something new to their plate does not mean taking something off of it.

That said, this is kind of a weird thing for Congress to get involved in. But it doesn't take away from anything else it's working on in the least.

If they have that much downtime they should still pick something else to fill it with rather than playoffs.

Because millions if not billions of federal and state taxpayer dollars go to universities.

So I guess they should just pass bills on other issues for the heck of it?

Like what? Congress isn't and shouldn't be 100% occupied for any number of reasons. For starters, we don't want them constantly passing new legislation - that's completely counterproductive. You only want them passing legislation if there's something that needs to be legislated. Also, you don't want them fully busy or they'd be unable to take on new things as they come. Congress always has had, should have, and will have plenty of downtime to take on less important things like this. For example, they also spend time passing bills to rename buildings and bridges or recognize various people w/ silly honors, etc.

What a waste of tax payer's money.

WTF does that mean? They are going to make it a law?

I say fire who ever propose it. What a waste of legislative power.

It would be fun to see the Bill is passed and BCS won't change. I guess this would go to the Supreme court! Those old hats in the Supreme court love sports I guess.
I think baseball game is most well regulated game in term of safety and who gets the ball. Guess why? ;)

I hate politicians and I hate the BCS. They're asking one of my hates to fix my other hate. I'm guessing when all is said and done, I'll still be hating politicians and whatever crappy bowl system that is still in place. IMO, the only answer is to do something (on a smaller scale) similar to the NCAA basketball tournament. If you build it, the money will come...probably tenfold compared to what the BCS is making right now.
