It is nice to see voters vote with sanity.

This election became unwinnable the moment it became Elder vs Newsom and not California vs Newsom.

The election fraud claims are so off the rails now. Elder's campaign was tied to a website that claimed voter fraud allegations based in a statistical anomoly called Bedford's law....

Before the actual counting of votes began. They claimed a statistical anomoly in vote counts before the actual counting began. They aren't even trying anymore.

It would be curious if dems swept 2022 that they might start trying to try?

Lol doubtful since that would mean trying!

If the Cali exit polls are correct the rightward shift of the Asian and Latino vote could be problematic for the Dems in 22/24.

no way. this was a referendum on Biden and he came out with FLYING COLORS.

alternatively. this was a referendum on Trump and he GOT REBUKED SOUNDLY.

so no worries for Dems in 2022 and 2024. TAX THE RICH BABY!!!

I think as a country we should be more worried that one party is increasing their frequency of claiming that elections are rigged with no evidence effectively eroding trust in our democracy.

    fwiw, whag00,
when Reagan was POTUS, Asian mericans were ~60% Republican,
currently, Asian Americans are ~ 60% Dems

as for Latino voters, except for Florida, they've always leaned Dem

Republicans really need to fix their messaging. Telling everyone that elections are rigged before they even happen and without evidence is backfiring in their faces by suppressing their own turnout.

No I really don't. Because I don't want this to culminate in riots and violence because if you keep on spamming our elections are fake for many years, it's going to culminr in violence and erosion in our democratic process.

Telling people who believe that "the second amendment exists to fight tyranny" that our democratic process is fraudulent isn't sustainable for any of us.

California voters registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 2 to 1. Getting rid of Newsom was always a longshot. The recall wouldn't have even made the ballot if he didn't have one of the worst optical moments in politics where he issued a pandemic lockdown order and then was photographed dining indoors, unmasked, with lobbyists at one of the most exclusive restaurants in the world. That is not enough to swing enough Democrats to recall him. I wouldn't expect a non-Democrat in statewide office in California for a VERY long time, unless some further left party comes to power.

No, we really, really don't. This is unbelievably corrosive to a democratic society.

Republican turnout very underwhelming. I think many have given up on the election process.

Well let's hope most of those who've given up don't believe in the whole "second amendment is to fight tyranny" line or else this country is going to face a reckoning in the coming decades in political violence.
