Gene and Jim said at the beginning of the radio broadcast that you are a proud new father. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I imagine you won't be reading the BBS any time soon, but maybe this will stay on the front page until you check the BBS next.
Yeah, I heard that too, all the way from AAAALLLAAABAMA. CONGRATS!!! Hmm, that reminds me, I still have to write Gene and Jim a thank you note .
Good Rockets News: Tim has a new baby! Maxwell Alexander McDougall Guess we know Les's favorite Rox player now...Boy, is that a suck-up Rockets name if I've ever seen one. So, if you take the job as VP of Marketing for Les, then he owns your first born? btw: you know that initials spell "yes 'Mam'" Afterall, Les and his wife could have named your boy Vernon Les McDougall, instead? anyhow, congrats to Tim, and I apologize if this was already posted. (I'm on a crappy Netscape today that doesn't let me go to post forum pages.)
Congratulations, Tim! Hope Maxwell doesn't drive you mad. Any good Rockets news is welcome. So show us the new uniforms.
Actually, their first choice was Richard Les McDougall. However, they didn't want him to grow up with kids teasing him "Dick Les".
Thanks for everybody's kind thoughts. The on-air announcement last night took both Beth and I by surprise. For clarification, his first name is really just Max, not Maxwell. It's his grandfather's name. And Alexander is just the middle name that goes to the first born son in our family ... it's my middle name, my dad's, his dad's, and so on. My grandmother used to have all kinds of wild stories on its origin, none of them verifiable, but fun nonetheless. When Les found out the middle name (he asked Beth about the baby's name at a reception we were all at a few months ago), he did get quite a kick out of it, though. Mad Max is doing great; he's sleeping right now and giving mom and dad a short break. Maybe we'll have some jammies made with the new uniform design and announce it to the world that way .... Tim
Tim, Awesome. Fatherhood is the most amazing ride you will ever be on. Congrats, and remember, they do start sleeping through the night by about month 5. DD
Congratulations Tim! and another Rockets fan is born! I guess this means you wont be making it to meet the "Mad Smeg Group" huh? and I'll finish with the traditional toast... "May your first child be a masculine child"....
