Link Netflix Wii Disk Reservation Page The Nintendo Wii is finally getting Netflix's streaming service, which is already available on competing game consoles. Streaming from the online move-rental service will go live on Nintendo's console this spring, according to a joint announcement on Wednesday. As with the competing consoles, the service will be available at no additional cost for Netflix subscribers with unlimited plans, which start at $8.99 per month. Like with the Sony PlayStation 3, which added Netflix streaming last fall, Nintendo Wii owners will need a free, instant-streaming disc from Netflix to access content. Using the disc may be annoying to some people since they must pop it into their Wii drive to access Netflix's stream. Microsoft's Xbox 360, the first console to get Netflix streaming, requires no extra disc. However, Microsoft does require an Xbox Live gold membership, which costs $50 a year, to access the Netflix service. Wii owners can start reserving their instant-streaming disc now on Netflix's Wii page.
As a former Netflix subscriber that terminated my membership in 2008, I enjoyed access to a small collection of streaming videos. After viewing a few movies and television programs, it became apparent to myself that the selection was miniscule in comaprison to the postal service options, hence I felt I looked like an *******, and cancelled. I am curious as to how the selection has improved since 2008. To those men and women who are currently Netflix subscribers, please enlighten me.
Bigger and better selection now... not to mention that they've added Starz Play which also has a decent list of movies. It's better than it used to be, I still think it could be better though.
I agree... there are a lot more streaming things... right now I have about 58 in my queue that can be streamed. I still used the mail option for tv series I don't want to buy.. like Battlestar Galactica (which I am still trying to catch up on) and stuff like that.
A Thank you to ItsMyFault and Hayesian. I logged on to the Netflix web address at 10:41 AM, and noticed that Paul Blart Mall Cop was featured as an option to view instantly. Is this the calibre of movie that I can expect?
the featured content is directly related to the movies you have chosen in the past... what does that say about your viewing choices My featured streaming movie... Lost in Austen (which I haven't ever heard of ) They have movies that are available in cycles... that is likely one of them.

aah gotcha! Well I would guess that they have about three times as many streaming movies as they did 2 years ago. Some new releases and some older ones
I received my Wii netflix disc in the mail today. Works great! No problems with my mod chip either. I've briefly used the netflix on BR players and didn't care for the UI to play movies. On the Wii, you do not need the computer and you can use the wii remote to browse and select movies.
I was talking to Blockbuster recently about a position to help them turn their company around, but I think it is just too late. DD
Not everyone has an HDTV and the HD content on netflix is pretty small at this point. You cant stream HD from the PC with netflix. Im not going out and dropping a couple hundred just to stream netflix HD.
