Do you think a concert is appropriate? A concert? What is this a celebration? Something's not right... a march is one thing, but a concert? It's like we're glorifiying this event or something... I just don't get it. Seems insensitive.
The Bush Administration needs to celebrate 9/11. It's the best thing that ever happened to them. Unfortunately, nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were killed in the process.
I think we deserve the day off. There aren't many holidays between July 4th and Thanksgiving. I'll bring the watermelon and you bring the fried chicken.
Is anyone else getting a kick out of the fact it's a country music concert? If only they could do a music/wrestling hybrid event where the Ultimate Warrior and Toby Keith beat up the Iron Sheikh and a couple other vaguely Arab heels.
And Osama bin Laden has been Bush's biggest contributor. No, the administration didn't produce bin Laden in chains right before the election; rather, one week before Election Day, that video of bin Laden making threats. And who knows when the video was actually produced.
You know, I still have vivid memories of desperately trying to reach my brother, who was working in D.C. on 9/11 and could have been at the Pentagon (he was still active duty in the Marines). Figuring out how to meet his kids coming home from school, so they wouldn't arrive to an empty house. Trying to get a hold of my cousin (more like a brother) who lives in NYC, and not being able to get through to him. The disturbing juxtaposition of a brilliant, beautiful fall day in Baltimore with the horror of watching the twin towers crumble. The sorrow I felt when I learned that someone I knew, a good person and a gracious host, who had opened his home to myself and my daughter on Thanksgiving, had died while working on the upper floors of one of the towers, leaving a devastated fiancee behind. It is a day I will always remember. It is a day I will never celebrate.
It is not appropriate. To commemorate the day they should begin a truly independent investigation to bring the truth to the American people.
It's always a mystery to me that right after 9/11, a special group of Saudis (many of them have the last name Bin Laden) were the first ones to let go via air trips while all other flights in U.S. remained grounded. It should be perfectly fair and justifiable to have these Saudis "detained" a little longer. Comparing to the grinding scrutinies and discriminations faced shortly after by many other ordinary law-abiding Arabs/Muslims in U.S., the extra "inconveniences" which might be experienced by these notable Saudis are just a small piece of cake. The explanation offered by the Bush apologists that the fear of "backlash" (in the wake of 9/11) against these Saudis "guests" was the primary reason for their instant security clearance is simply laughable. It just shows this so-called War On Terror waged by the Bushies is full of baloney and hypocrisies.
Let Mr. Black know how you feel about him participating in this little get together! webmaster@ClintBlack.com
This administration is going to keep trying to make people believe that the invasion of Iraq had something to do with 9-11. This is just another subtle way of try and get the American people to support the unjust war. "Hey guys remember 9-11, remember the president standing on the ruble of the trade towers, you loved him once, what causes you not to love him now."
What "truth" are you looking for? Do you doubt that terrorists comandeered airplanes and committed these heinous acts?
Nobody doubts the attacks occurred. Many people, including myself, doubt the government's official story on 9/11, see holes in the 9/11 commission report, and believe a coverup of the truth is taking place. http://www.septembereleventh.org/index.php
The fact that we never saw a video of the plane hitting the pentagon does bother me. We are talking about DC and the PENTAGON. It's known that the government does have video of he clash but they refuse to release it. Official story: that the terrorists were probably looking for the white house but it can be kind of hard to find form the air, so they see the big ol' pentagon and decide that's good. So they go for it. But do they do a dive into it form the top, no. Remember this is a 4 story building. They come around, and anyone who knows DC the freeway runs next to the pentagon. These terrorists skim the freeway then drop the plane to 4 ft off the ground and fly straight in. That's some bit of flying for a couple of guys with not much if any experience in a 747. And by the way there is very little debris. Something is wrong with this story.

I don't think that a concert is inappropriate. I believe the idea is to celebrate that we are still a strong country and unified in our love of freedoms that are threatened, despite the 9/11 attacks. It's not like people are going around saying "happy 9/11 day!" or something. A concert can certainly be respectful. I know there are concerts on Memorial Day sometimes, I don't think anyone has said those are inappropriate.
A detailed analysis (with pictures of the plane) debunking the notion that an aircraft did not hit the Pentagon - from the top conspiracy website on the net. I've read a few of these, but this one is really the best i've seen... _________ Evidence That A Boeing 757 Really Did Impact the Pentagon on 9/11 link
