Computer Question - Can I Do This?

    I have a old computer, Compaq Presario Mod. 5003US,
    With Pentium III Processor 933 mhz.

    Can I swap out the processor with a Pentium 4 2.67mhz

    I'm guessing he's looking for a cheap upgrade. Likely, the only parts in the computer with any possible value are the hard drives and maybe a CD burner. (which are likely slow as heck by todays standards)

    I Dont think it's the power supply, I do see a green light on the Motherboard, but nothing else, no fans, nothing.

    If you want to make an old machine useful for normal every day task (internet, email, word processing) through Ubuntu on it. Ubuntu isn't the hog that XP is and can give life to your old machines.
