    Hello,

I am having trouble connecting to the internet on my computer. Everytime the cat 5 is plugged in, the computer eventually freezes. If it is not plugged in, the computer works fine though. Do I just need a new nic card?

I know I shouldnt post these problems on this bbs, but its summer.

Your NIC might be loose. Shut everything down. Pull it out completely and push it back it in flush. If you haven't cleaned the dust from inside of the PC tower, the tower may have overheated and messed up the NIC. Be sure to clean out your fans with one of those cans of airs.

I guess this is a desktop? But try uninstalling the NIC driver through Device Manager and then reinstall or update it with a new driver.

I second the driver installation. It's most likely corrupted/bad drivers that are causing it.
