My computer screen monitor the other day totally screwed up. The bottom half worked fine but the top half of the screen just went blank. Like the picture had gone out or something. I unplugged it and everything and it still didn't work. Then later after trying it on my other computer etc it started working again. Tonight it seems to have done the same thing and the top half is like completely out. I changed monitors and am using my old monitor until I get my good one fixed. I have a warranty so I should be able to get it fixed but was just curious if anyone had any idea what it could be? Thanks, any help would be appreciated. I guess something is just wrong with the top half of the screen. A short or something?

that is a good question. I don't want to go get it fixed and say it was half empty when it was actually half full.. hmm seriously lol it's impossible to do anything when you only see half of the screen lol

Sounds like something loose in a connection internally . . . nothing really you can do. Bang it a few times? [IMG]

thanks.. yeah i guess i'll be better off just going ahead and taking it to get fixed. might mess it up more myself and since i have a warranty might as well use it. i bought it at best buy so they better not they they have to order parts or i might just have to sub my 17 inch monitor for a 19 inch or a flat screen one that i know they have in stock hehe. i was thinking it might be something loose also.

ven.. yes the good old trick of banging a few times. i'm not sure if it will work in this case (I've already tried) but in many cases banging things actually does help lol. AS long as you don't hurt your hand or whatever you are hitting it with. thanks for the help
