For some reason the sound on my computer is not working whatsoever. I have checked and rechecked every plug and connection but everything is plugged in. The sound icon on the lower right next to the time is no longer there either. Is it possible that since I was deleting files earlier in the week to save space on my hard drive I may have all together deleted sound? I seem to remember having sound directly after deleting the files and not having a problem until recently. If you can't tell from this post, I'm pretty computer illiterate so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You should try command and conquer generals. It is really a fun game.

    Hi, LA!!

    Try this:

    1) On Windows Menu, hit "Start"
    2) Next, click "Control Panel"
    3) Next, click "Sounds and Audio Devices
    4) Go to the "Volume" Tab. If there is a check mark next to "Mute", take the check mark off.

    Good luck!!

The volume was all the way down but the meter was faded so that I could not make the volume any louder.

What OS system are you using?

The reason the volume control is disabled is probably because the drivers for your sound devices are not loading for some reason.

I can help ya, but I need to know your OS system.

What codell said. You probably just need to download the driver(s) for your sound card or motherboard if you don't have a card.

    LF33,

Go to your control panel. Click on the systems icon and then go to the device manager. Click on the Sound, Video and Game Controller and see if there is either a red X or a yellow circle with an exclamation next to any of your sound devices.

Well, you should just get Server 2003;),
if your sound doesn't show up, just try to get the drivers from the manufacturers website.
    ps-I use Longhorn...;)
