Just out of nowhere. One day it was working. The next day it wasn't. I've run Ad Aware and Spybot. No problems.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Any suggestions from the bbs computer gurus?

Does the scroll button work in any other app besides your browser?

Also, check your Mouse settings under Control Panel.

Nope, doesn't work in anything else either. The settings under CP are the same as they've always been. I changed them and clicked 'apply' just to make sure but to no avail.

It's a Dell by Logitech optical wheel mouse. Everything works fine except the scroll wheel. There are no batteries to replace.

Well, you must just have a f*cked up mouse. There's not much to that scroll mouse that requires much configuring. Especially since it works in nothing else.
Did you install any software that came with that mouse. You may have changed a setting within that software.

Assuming you have XP, just run a system restore. Quick and painless. If no workie, then completely uninstall your mouse driver and download the latest driver from Dell's website.
