    . . when I have a streaming video rolling.
Infact my wav files and non-cd files. . .tend
to skip and stutter when being played

I have updated my IE [using 6.0 now]
    Windows Media Player 9.0

    Using Windows 98

    anything else I can try?

[thought it was the audio card but i have replaced that
    and getting the same results]

    defragment....disk cleanup

what you are experiencing is more than likely the results of excessive fragmentation or your drive is getting so full the swap file is spread all across the disk.

also...you are using WIn98.....would really recommend upgrading to a better version.
Win9x and ME aree known for their instabilty.

2K or XP would be a much better OS to run.

Upgrade to Windows 2000. I used to get those blue screens several times a day witn W98. I installed W2000 almost a year ago and have yet to have a blue screen episode.
