Need some major computer help, got home tonight from work and went to switch on my home computer, but nothing i mean nothing is happening, no noise at all, one small light green comes at the front that is normally on comes on but that is it.

any ideas anyone or is it just take it to the shop in the morning??

ITs either the power supply or the motherboard Smeg.

If the fan isnt even coming on, then it sounds like a MB issue.

    not necessarily...

it could be the power supply, if it isnt putting out enough juice, that coudl happen. but in my experience, when the PS fries..then it wont even turn on any lights..

    SMeg,

if you dont feel like going thru hardware diagnostics, just take it to the shop..otherwise, email me, and Ill walk you thru troubleshooting.

Is it a laptop? Maybe somehow it is set to be switched to only display the picture on an external monitor and that is why it looks like it is not turning on? What model is it?

Good deal Smeg. That's the cheapest possible problem you could've had. Although I don't know what pricing is like when you're stranded on a big ole island.

But since none of the smartasses have said it already...next time try plugging it in;)
