I am interested in purchasing an L-shaped computer desk to go in the corner of a room. My budget is less than 500 bucks.

Where did everyone go to get theirs?

    Has anyone ordered theirs online?

How nice are you wanting it to be?

I'm sitting behind an L shaped desk right now. Ooh so sweet! But the only bad part is when I run to the computer, it gashes my leg.

I wanted to buy something new.

I'm going to need to assemble it, because it is in an upstairs room and I'm trying to avoid carrying a monstrosity up an angled stairway.

I was hoping to spend less than $500.

    I've always preferred www.sauder.com
From what I just looked at, it looks like you can get a comuter desk with a return kit for $425. It will come unassembled, but the instructions are pretty darn easy. I've liked everything I've gotten from there.

    Here's what I found:

    http://www.sauder.com/furniture/product.asp?p=115

and the return kit for the "L" shape.

    http://www.sauder.com/furniture/product.asp?l=6&p=116

    Or these for $475:

    http://www.sauder.com/furniture/product.asp?p=355

Fool around on their site. I like them a lot.

Mine is a glass L desk. It was bought at some European furniture store on Fondren. Might have been Danish Inspirations.

You should hit up IKEA. Their stuff is pretty cheap and easy to assemble.

The one I am using at home is on its last legs, or shall I say screws. The only thing I can't find is a decent tall upper part with hideaway cabinets or doors. All of the new desks seem to have no place to hide my por... I mean, my software and items above the monitor. Most will have CD slots, a place for the printer, but nothing on top that's hidden.

I am on the same boat as you, swilkins (thanks for this thread, though). I can't find a good one that's under $500.
