i guess i can't blame Turner Networks for pushing their shows on their stations.. but this is too much.. after watching an entire postseason of basketball on TNT, i have to say that i have developed a very strong hatred for all of their 'shows'.

heartland, the closer, saving grace, house of payne...

i am so glad that the cavs won game 6 so that i won't have to watch another basketball game on TNT again until next november. these horrible commercials are not the way to get anyone to watch their crap. heartland looks awful, saving grace looks even worse, and house of payne looks less funny than any of the other shows i've mentioned.. they run the commercials pretty much at every time out, and it's completely unbearable.

i mean come on, does House of Payne really look funny to anyone? if the commercials are any indication of the actual show, i hope i won't know anyone who watches it so i won't have to slap them.

TNT will do the world a favor and get better ratings by running 24 hour reruns of Arrested Development.

Yeah like said above one time they were like "The all time most viewed television show in history is coming back to TNT!" Watch the Closer...

The one I hated the most was the young guy who works in an ambulance with his associate. Probably canceled it.

yeah house of payne looks ridiculously unfunny. is madea some carry-over character from another show, and im supposed to know who she is? they announce her appearance like its brad pitt guest starring on friends. and the closer makes me want to throw up. i LOL at those dramatic camera-panning-around the-character shots that aren't even from the show, but are just commercial shots to show how cool and dramatic the stars of the shows are. i dont know if its just tnt, but theyre the first network that comes to mind when i think about annoying promotions. i dont recall ever being bombarded with annoying commercials for the truly enjoyable shows, like the office or lost. when they were advertised, it was short and simple. i think the good shows stand on their own merits, and the bad ones get pimped with fat advertising budgets. some twisted logic, but whatever.

even then, im not sure which is the lesser evil, tnt's annoying promotions or abc's horrific music selection. at least you get some eye candy with abc. nicole swhfahfaihfaizederger is hot!

TNT is trying to become a major network with original programming and all. All in all, it's a great station because it's always in HD and has some good stuff (as far as re-runs and sports). But their original programming sucks.

House of Payne looks like some crappy UPN reject black comedy like Girlfriends or Malcolm and Eddie. Real crap!

Another network that pushes way too hard is Fox. I got so damn sick and tired of hearing and seeing those key over graphics of Prison Break during the Astros World Series. They would have sound effects of sirens and a helicopter keyed right over the lowerthird of the screen. Real annoying.

I hardly watch Fox because of all their self promoting...and also because their prime-time programming sucks (Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader??? What is that crap about??)

Heartland looks horrible too, starring a man with the first name of Treat! "Don't worry ma'am if I get any heart it will go straight to her and I WILL MAKE IT WORK." because all hearts are the same!

Tivo. Ti-vo. Even when I have to write a gamer on deadline, I start watching the game 30-45 minutes after it starts. Halftime is 16 minutes (during the playoffs) and I'll watch four minutes of it, six minute break (again, playoffs) between the quarters, and you're all caught up by the end of the game. Just fast-forward through all the bumpers.

Treat Williams and the guy from House of Payne could re-enact that fateful scene from Requiem For a Dream on the Cavaliers' sideline last night, and TNT would still be (even not accounting for Inside the NBA) years better than ESPN/ABC.

These tie ins are what justifies the insane contracts the NBA asks for.

Some networks break even or lose money when it comes to broadcasting rights and pro sports.

Kind of like panning the crowd and just coincidentally Chris Paul is in attendance, and just coincidentally Chris Paul teamed up with the New Orleans Hornets to visit a dilapidated school for a photo op. Who cares???

    Oh, the NBA Cares.

The most entertaining part of TNT is Craig Sager's wardrobe in hi-def. If TNT doesn't become dumb and brain dead, next season they'll have Sager, Aldridge, Miller (NOT REGGIE; THAT GUY IS AN ARROGANT, PESSIMISTIC ****ING MORON) as 'base'line reporters and Sodomy Albert, JVG, and Mike 'The Czar' Fratello as the color/pbp.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think 'czar' is Russian for 'failure'.

And Barkley needs to stop listening to people who make him think he's intelligent. Either run a gubernatorial race in Alabama, or go back to being the amusing, bumbling idiot that is guaranteed to give the viewing audience ~3-5 uncensored f-bombs/season.

Here's to hoping Dick Stockton contracts TB.
