So I went to a sports bar to watch the game last night and since the place was pretty much empty they turned up the volume for me. It's the second game of the season that I could listen to and the first was in spanish, so I was pretty happy, unfortunately I ddin't get to hear Bill and Calvin. They had Steve Jones doing the commentary and he made a few comments that I thought were worth passing along.

Anytime Steve had the ball he would make a comment about how dangerous he was, how he was explosive, and how he could hit the outside jumper, basically that he could score on you if he wanted to. The comment that stood out the most was after Steve had driven to the basket and drew a foul, while he was at the line Jones said something to the effect of "This is a guy that never even played high school basketball, he does all this on God given talent. If he ever understands the game upstairs, watch out."

This makes you realize how much the other teams respect Steve, and he is still able to get 20+ a night with the defenses set up to stop him. It also makes you realize how much further he can go.

Jones praised Kenny a few times as well, complimenting his quickness and ability to drive and passing ability. At one point he said that Kenny is a really under rated player and was a great rebounder and passer.

Other notes, he didn't think Eddie should be shooting threes so much and by the end of the year when everybody has had time to gel we'll be one of the toughest teams to play against.

Something else not specifically from Jones was they had a graphic showing Rocket's injuries and Taylor was listed as having a sore Achilles and they seemed suprised when he came into the game. Does anybody know if this is accurate and if so how bad it is?

He did tweak his achilles in the Clippers game (I believe), and he even looked like he tweaked it again last night because at some point he got this horrible grimace on his face and started running very gingerly...but he stayed in the game.

Steve Jones does not "live" with Francis.

    Houston fans do.
