A little anemic at first, but Franchise tied it with his first basket at 7:15 or so. Francis was getting people involved early. “My fault, my fault” he taunted after canning the jumper. I thought it was interesting that Rudy gave Boki the first option at the outset to see what he had.Mobley’s jumper was going early, but Mo’s wasn’t and Duncan is killing us. Against him and Robinson, wouldn’t a twin tower approach be warranted. Great first quarter for the boys.

Great ball movement early in the 2nd. Ming has great hands on his first touch. I love Yao’s aggressiveness and physical play. They fouled him hard a couple of times and then he came down and gave a hard foul of his own. Damb, Eddie’s jumper rules 5:50 left and Ming and Eddie are in the frontcourt. We really need to work on the trap these teams are throwing at us. Yao’s initial problem will be foul trouble, but what can you expect from a guy who has been with the team for 4 days. Eddie rocks, I love his sweet midrange jumper. We need to clamp down on the turnovers. Nice lead at the half.

Will someone tell Stevie that when we pass the ball, we get a great shot, but when he dribbles it for 5-10 seconds we don’t. Just keep shooting that 3, Eddie. Great play by Hawkins to end the quarter.

Yao definitely has a long way to go, but I sure am glad he is here and playing. He really hustles up and down the court. Overall a good game even though they had a few too many turnovers.

2 assists out of the PG with Eddie and Mobley shooting the ball well is not a desireable stat. Hopefully Steve just had an off game or something, but we really need him to become more of a distributor than last year with the development ouf of Eddie, the arrival of Ming, and the comebacks of Rice and Mo T.

We need a low post offensive game fast. SF shot too much especially as his shot was off. EG needs to add a low post game. Duncan's point were the difference because it came at a high %. Too many jump shots. The game would have been less close if SA hit their FT's.

Not only would I like to see Eddie add more of a low post game, I'd like to see him NOT shoot the 3 pointer again, EVER. Every time I see him put up a three I'm sitting there shaking my head. He needs to follow KT's lead in that he needs to forget about taking three pointers.
