I'm bringing my family up to visit Houston this coming week. Nasa is on the must see list, but what are some other fun family things to do in Houston.

The Museum of Natural Science or the Health Museum are great if you've got kids.

    take em to kemah.
more importantly you should come up with places to take them to eat. The good food impresses as much as the attractions.

Do you not watch Rockets games on FSN? There's a "come visit the newly restored Kemah Boardwalk" commercial during every timeout it seems like.

actually, the children's museum would be a much better choice. it's a lot more interactive and kids are allowed to be kids. even i had fun there.

Ah, it's been so long that I'd completely forgotten about it! That's good too.

Discovery Green is great on weekends for just playing in the park, plus they have an ice skating rink right now. If it is the weekend they also have live music.

Buy this pass if you want to visit a collection of Houston area attractions for one low price.

IIRC you live in the valley, right?

Its a little obvious, but its both great fun and educational for the kids:

...and they probably don't have much personal exposure to lions and tigers and such in the valley which will make it more impressive.

I'd skip Kemah. Even before the hurricane it sucked.

They will have a great time at NASA and any of the museums downtown. Also, how can you forget the Rockets?

I'll be leaving the valley tomorrow 6:00 am...drive straight into the childrens museum, check in at 3:00 at Hilton NASA, freshen up and hit the downtown aquarium. Next day we'll open NASA and afterwards hit Moody Gardens.

Family is pretty excited. I wish we had more time...
