Hey guys. SORRY for the long post below and the numerous, numerous questions. ... So after working in an endless job and being messed around by the Australian Defence Force for the past 2 and a half years i've decided i need a holiday. I was intending to come and watch the end of the regular season and go sight seeing with my brother and a couple of his friends but they're all anti basketball and we're 'i'm not staying in houston for long'. Then they ended up deciding to go later in 2011. So i'm considering an impromtu trip. Mainly to catch some NBA games live. The plan would be to come over on the 28th of December - obviously so my first NBA experience can be to catch the Rockets against the Heat. Quick question - are seats in Section 108 - Row 18 any good? And how about Section 120 Row 1? I figure from the interactive seating map - it's right behind the announcers? I don't want my ugly mug on tv all too much - unless they're good seats. Just by doing a quick ticket search on the rockets.com website a few of the games i'd look at going to would be there. Just wondering whether they'd be good views and atmosphere etc etc. I also looked on the Flash Seats section and saw a couple of good seats to the Orlando Magic in 109 Row A or something similar - the advertiser said you can get signatures from players? If so i'd definitely be forking out the money for that. All in all i'm intending to just see games at the Toyota Centre - since i won't really be able to travel that much i don't think. I'd be seeing the Rockets take on the Heat, Raptors, Blazers, Utah, Oklahoma, New Orleans, Milwaukee (maybe... if so i'd take the gap between games to travel somewhere close by?), New York and the Magic. Is there any way of purchasing courtside seats or seats really close to the court? I'd love to see the game up close. Also - are the seats on the baseline directly behind the photographers worth the money? Is it a good view etc? Because a couple of the games Row 1 was available in Section 114. It'd be awesome to be able to see them take on the Nuggets, the Magic in Orlando and also Boston but i have no idea how i'd work out logistics or anything since i'm a complete amatuer to traveling overseas - especially by myself. In saying all that... Is there much to do in Houston or surrounding areas? For instance - i live an hour from Sydney. Where i live has a pretty big shopping centre and numerous places to hang out at - and if i want something different i just jump on a train and head into Sydney. Is something like that an option whilst in Houston? Would i be able to go places in between the games? PS: i've also looked at accomodation. Just the basic is all i really need. One of the hotels has all the nights i figured staying for around $2000. Sorry for the long post guys and thanks for any help and information!
With your moniker and signature it's really hard for me to want to help you. We already had one horrible tragedy with an Aussie coming to Houston......maybe you should try Toronto. I hear it's lovely at this time of year. These are good seats. And you even can get autographs from Clyde, Bill, and Matt if your lucky. Section 109 and 113 are the best to get autographs. I would get them at 113 cause you have a better chance at getting autographs there. Last year against The Hornets I got Battier, Hill, Matt Bullard, and Clutch. Um you have a better chance at going to see them play the Spurs and Mavs. Unless your going by plane. Austin is only 2 hour drive and it's always fun to hangout. So many great bars.
How would you rate the seats from best to worst? Section 120 Row 1, Section 109 Row 1 (right in the corner of the Rockets tunnel i think), Section 114 Row 2 PS: do you want to come to a game? Ha i'll buy another ticket for helping this guy. (but mainly because i just discovered your signature is It's Always Sunny)
Also, what does 'VIP club/area/lounge/parking' what exactly does this mean? Sorry for all the questions guys - i just want to make sure i pay for something worth it since i'm coming over just to watch the Rockets!
