What are the good ones? overall atmosphere(crowded/noncrowded/clean/grimy), tickets reasonably priced? drink minimums? Which ones tend to have the funniest comedians?

By the way, are there any good show's in town this weekend? I'm thinking of taking someone from out of town to a show. Let me know if you know of any! :D

Laff Stop in the River Oaks area is pretty good. The tickets I remember to be well priced. There is like a 2 drink minimum. I saw Mitch Hedberg there twice, they seem to get pretty good talent. www.laffstop.com

Saw Billy D. Washington at the Laff Spot near Willowbrook mall, Pablo Francisco at the Laff Stop where Mr. Clutch says, and I think SpellBinder's when it was on Montrose. I don't know if you consider any of those "clean", but it will get dirty once people start drinking and smoking.

Pablo Francisco will be at The Improv from Nov. 9th through 11th. I've never been there to see a show, but since it's somewhat new, it should be CLEAN, I think?

Improv is by far the best comedy club here in Houston as far as atmosphere. Laff Stop is more a smaller type club to get closer to the performer, Laff Spot is about the same. Comedy Showcase off of 45 and Fuqua is small too. Laff Spot/Stop/Comedy Showcase are the more traditional smaller venues while Improv is like the more fancier bigger show room.

I saw Ted Kennedy doing stand up at The Giggle Hut on Buffalo Speedway. Nice place.
