Man, Tracy McGrady is getting it again.

Now he is being criticized for wanting to play? That's too funny.

When did that become such a bad thing?

Oh, here's a guess. When the team isn't desperate to have you. Here's another guess: when the owner sees a $150,000-200,000 insurance check added to the black on the accounting ledger for every game you sit.

(Hey, don't get mad at me, somebody else made that second guess.)

You really think there will be something on the MRI he'll take Monday that would be different than what would be on the MRI had he taken it earlier?

If the guy is healthy and ready to return, why would the Rockets not allow him to?

And every weak excuse you throw out could lead back to money.

If he isn't good enough to play with this group, then sit his butt on the bench. If he pouts, then suspend him. A suspension, and you're in the same situation you are in now. (Well, except if you suspend him you're not getting a rebate on his salary. And in this economy?)

Plus, we're talking about a suspension for a guy who right now has done nothing wrong except express a desire to play.

What would the suspension be for, conduct detrimental to the team's bottom line?(Good thing he didn't curse out the coach.)

Give the man his uniform and let's get on with the season.

The sooner he is up to speed and 100 percent, the better this team will be or the better his trade prospects will be.

He can't play because he hasn't practiced? Seriously, are we talking about practice?

Activate him — you have the open roster spot — and play him only in blowouts until you feel he will mesh with what you're doing. What could that hurt?

    Stop playing games.

Too funny. People bashed and said he had no passion and didn't want to play, now they bash when he clearly has fire, is healthy and wants to play so bad. People are absolutely crazy, I'm convinced of it now.

The Rockets were wrong here, but it's understandable "money" wise. If they let him play by next Wednesday, it will be fine.

But he only wants to play this badly because he wants another big fat contract for the next 5 years.

i agree with you guys, at least give the man a chance, you may not of liked t-mac LAST SEASON due to him not being healthy at all, but this season i have a feeling he's ready and im sure he knows when his body is ready also.

Exactly. The only time I have ever supported tmac since his act last season and kudos to soloman for writing such a nice article, he is saying exactly what I was.

Play him off the bench, he disrupt something, waive him or keep him out. Its unlikely he will be here next season so why pay him for doing nothing?

Yes, but I don't want anymore excuses by TMac when he does get the green light. If he passes the MRI he should play against the Mavs on the 25th and not say he needs more time to get ready to play.

Adelman is a players coach. I think the players are also eager to let McGrady back.
Plus, right now 300k are better for the team than TMac. Sorry to say that. But TMac would only hurt the team, tonights comeback would not have happened have tmac been the leader of the team.

    We need a scorer really???

What we need is inside presence/defense.

You just watched the game you can't tell??

Plus, if TMac wants to play this badly i am sure Morey will be very happy to release him from his contract if he offers a good discount. If he wants to play, he can play where he will be payed what the market says he is worth.

So what. He has the right to play for a fat contract. Thats his job. Just like the Rockets have the right to make the decision when he can come back.

Whith this team, i think playing for the contract is quite the opposite as playing for the team.

The idea that a player has to practice to play is a bad one?

    My God.
