Maybe without Steve, starting the second best player on the team would be a good idea! What does it take to see Eddie in the starting lineup???

So ZRB, what do you really want to say to Rudy?:D

Eddie really came on late and almost got the Rockets the win. This guy is the second best player on this team and will be the best player on this team shortly. Rudy's stupid not to be starting him at this point.

I didn't say I wanted to bench Kenny, I said I wanted to start Eddie. Bench Walt or Kelvin, not Kenny. He did a great job tonight, but I have shivers just thinking about how good this team could be if they went with this starting lineup:

    Steve (when healthy)
    Cuttino
    Kenny
    Eddie
    Kelvin

The two forward spots are interchangeable. There's no need to define Eddie as the power forward or Kenny as the small forward. They are both forwards.

How about, "Put Eddie in the game in the second half sometime before the 1:20 mark of the third quarter"?

That's the lineup I'd go with, ZRB.

    And next year:

    Steve
    Cuttino
Kenny (probably won't be here tho - Rashard?)
    MoT
    Eddie

So young, so athletic, everyone a scorer, everyone a rebounder, almost everyone a passer... And everyone plays multiple positions. Mismatches galore!

God, I can't wait for this garbage year to end.

I love Eddies game, but I'm a bit worried that Rudy may be moulding him into a Matt Bullard type player. I mean a few high pick n' rolls everynow and then beyond the three point line is cool, but every damn play gets a bit ridiculous(seems like a waste of talent, to me).

Still, I'd like to see Eddie start somewhere along that front line. He's the second best player on this team right now and It'd be nice change to see the offense run through him at times -- but within the three point-line for a large percentage of the time.

Rocketbooster, I totally agree. How about developing a post-up game, a jump hook along with a few inside "take it strong to the hole" moves. ZRB, I agree and I am absolutely baffled why Rudy is subbing E.G. the way he is. I am also amazed the way he is using (or not using) Torres. A few games ago this guy was getting 20 pts a game when he got the p.t.

You guys should seem surprised.........You all know Rudy makes every player in the World a Three point shooter.

Examples, Shandon, Pippen , and now EG. I could never figure it out. Like I said if Webber had come here, he'd probably be shooting 3's if Rudy had anything to do with it............... :(

Sad as it is to say, I think Tmo may be given some chances to see if he is worth keeping or not. It's already been established that the Rockets aren't making the playoffs, and it's also been established that Torres IS worth keeping.

i CANNOT fathom why rudy didn't play eddie before the 1:03 mark in the 3rd quarter. WHY..OH..WHY...was terrence morris instead of griff???

griff comes in: tough board, 2 free throws in 1:03.

4th quarter: more tough boards, 3 clutch 3pointers from AT LEAST 25' out.

i wouldn't worry about him becoming matt bullard. he has a post game and wants to bulk up some more in the offseason before he utilizes it. that's fine with me. plus, if all he wanted to do was sit at the 3point line, he wouldn't be faking and cutting to the basket or going backdoor as much as he does....

    Verse,

Griff was 0-4 with 0 rebounds in the first half. That is 'why oh why' he didn't come in until 1:03 in the third. As far as rebounding prowess, Tmo averages just as many boards per 48 as eddie. I don't think EGs a better rebounder, he's just far better on offense and on shotblocking.

four shots is nowhere near a litmus test for a player of eddie griffin's caliber. especially when only 2 of them were given to him in the flow of the offense.

1 shot (his first) was a missed open 3.
1 shot was a missed put back
1 shot was a missed post turnaround.
1 shot was a missed jumper w/time running low.

do you really think that is a reason not to play him for the first 11 minutes of the 3rd quarter - electing to go with t-mo??? t-mo??? what the hell has he ever done on the court for the rockets??? compared to eddie "ice" griffin? nothing.

look at the 4th quarter of any game where eddie has been on the court. dude is "ice". that's why he has to be on the court. eddie "ice" griffin. terrence "slushie" morris needed to be on the bench.
