They just had a little breaking new story type thing, like 4-5 minutes ago, and Jim Gray(nbc field reporter) said that Shaquille O'neal had hurt his wrist from some home activities and that he'll be wearinga wrist band to conceal the tape and stitches.

Jim make a comment, saying the Spurs will never know about this condition occuring. And apparently the spurs are a bunch of dip****s and don't know whats going on. I'm only assuming that since they SHOWED A FREAKING STORY on TV about the INCIDENT and the spurs locker ROOM feeds into NBC and the ARENA's TV.

Think before you say sh**, Jim Gray, NBC, whoever is in charge of what these arse holes say

Jim Gray is the worst sideline reporter in the NBA.

When the Spurs won the championship against New York- not five minutes after the game ends, the moron goes into the Knicks locker room, and says to Van Gundy, "You've got to congratulate the Spurs on their great win, eh?"

Yeah, after just missing out on a world title, I'm sure Van Gundy was eager to cheer them on. Gray is an idiot.

Off the original topic, but what the heck is going on out there?

The defenses are good, but not this good. Duncan and Kobe can't throw the ball in the ocean. Shaq has been cold too, outside of the few dunks he's had. I can't figure out who has the advantage: on one hand, it's remarkable that the Spurs are up six with Duncan ice cold and Robinson out, but it's remarkable that the Lakers are only down six the way they've been shooting. Will be an interesting finish.

    Same old story.

Close game in the fourth, officials bail out LA. Shaq hammers Malik Rose, no call. Horry decks Parker to the floor for what should be a flagrant, and definitely a shooting foul. Nothing. Duncan was getting hammered all quarter, especially on that steal by Fisher. Nothing. I'm not sure why I watch anymore... should've seen this one coming a long time ago. Same scenario as March 31.

I feel the same way, Cat. I made some comments on another board about the Laker-Blazer Game 1 which stated back on the 21st of April,

Lakers win Game 1 with the antick's of Kobe and the officials. While the Blazers can't get nothing started.

    What else is new?

Example of my topic is, kobe is posting up near the top of the key with 3:06 to go in the game, and Rasheed and Scottie are doubling up on him. Kobe does/trys to do a fade away in the lane, loses the ball in mid air, and one of them gets called for the foul.

It was clear that it was a bad call in the view of the officials, but please don't listen to Mr. Bill Walton, as he called it a foul on the NBC telecast.

He's the man who called Shaq, the MVP of the league, Kobe as Defensive player of the year(kobe didn't get one vote, Ben Wallace ate them all up), Derek Fisher as Most Improved player and Robert Horry as 6th man of the year.

It really does help when you get that added edge on the competetion regardless of where you play.

Watch out for Dan Dickau, I see him as another Kobe type Acting players, who relye on the Sound of that whistle to get there game going

If i dont see a ::::cough:::: Bandwagon commentator::::cough who is too lazy to watch and pay attention to other teams than the team thats in the city he lives in, on NBC than I don't what i see
Don't know what else to say about this

Are you joking, Cat? You're right, it was the same old story: the Spurs were pathetic against LA.

With Shaq and Kobe both out for extended periods of the game, the Spurs were still unable to put any distance between themselves and the Lakers. If the Spurs were as good as you say, they should have been able to pound LA tonight. The Lakers shot horribly all game; had the worst first quarter of the season; had the worst first half of the season; got horrid performances from Dereck Fisher and Rick Fox, and they still managed to beat the Spurs.

You're blaming the refs? This should have been a blowout.

I agree that the Lakers often get preferential treatment from the officials, but certainly not today.

Cat complaining about referees after the Spurs lose to the Lakers?

If I hadn't seen it myself I would never have believed it.

    b**** b**** b**** b****

I'm having flashbacks to last year's playoffs...:)

The Spurs should have no excuses, Shaq was out for an entire quarter, and they couldn't pull away.

Same old story, Spurs lose, Cat blames the refs...

The Lakers will sweep the Spurs now...

Well, ZRB, Tim Duncan had the worst shooting game of the entire season. Antonio Daniels missed open 12 footers and layups. David Robinson didn't play. The officiating was atrocious. If the Lakers were as good as you say, they should've won this in a blowout.

I would predict the Spurs to come back and win this series, but I can't anymore. It's too depressing. If the officitating was even remotely fair, the Spurs would win in 5, maybe 6 games. But, every time I get my hopes up, the officials give LA fifty calls in the fourth quarter to win it. The Spurs are going to have to literally destroy the Lakers to win a game in this series, because if its close, the officials will find a way.

It will be interesting to see who gets the calls if the Kings meet the Lakers... I'm guessing that will decide the series.

It is the refs and heres why.

For some odd reason, the officials always seem to call the "questionable call" at that one moment in the game when the Lakers go on there run to end the game.

I've seen it a million times.

Maybe it's good "clutch time" acting by Hollywood's own duo of Shaq and Kobe and there just lucky that the whole team gets involved or maybe its the luck of that grey t shirt wearing whistle blowing ref who only see's what he wants to see.

One or two calls can change the game.

According to The Cat, the refs never call Laker games fairly, is involved in a nationwide conspiracy to overthrow small towns, and makes sure your toast, when dropped, will always land butter side down.

Great game by the Lakers..just plain outclassing the Spurs.

not a great game. It was a game that they just won.

YOu can't really say anything good about the game.

I dont know there shooting %;s for the game.

But its way lower than 50%, maybe in the 30s or 40's. 45% if there lucky

Tim Duncan had a pathetic game because the Lakers are just that good defensively. Daniels missing open shots proves that he just isn't as great a player as you think, just like the Spurs aren't as great a team as you think.

They are mentally weak. They had some of the same, easy looks that they buried against Seattle, and choked. The Spurs are easily intimidated by LA, and that is why they're going down in this series. Anyone that ever calls the Spurs a "tough" team should be tarred and feathered. They're as soft as ever, even without Charmin in the middle.

Huh, that's funny. Must be the part of the same conspiracy that is also responsible for every loss by the Longhorns, the Saints, and the Rockets.

I hope that "they" don't kill me tonight for revealing their secret...

That's a great representation of Kobe Bryant.

Honestly, I don't even care if the Spurs lose this series. I don't blame the Spurs if they tank it after this game... I don't even see what the point in trying is. Unless you have a 25 point game heading to the fourth quarter, you won't beat LA. I've seen it too many times. Maybe there's hope for next year, when NBC is out of the picture, but I don't know.

I find it hard to believe that good defense caused Duncan to blow the identical shots he's nailed for the entire season. Most of them weren't contested, or no more than usual. The Spurs are as tough as anyone in the league-- most teams would've folded after those calls in the fourth quarter-- but there's nothing anyone can do right now. You could bring a team of Stockton, Jordan, Bird, Malone, and Hakeem in their prime to Staples, and I'm not sure if they could get a call.

I see that you're already covering your bases in preparation for the sweep the Lakers are about to hand the Spurs.

Actually, I want the series to go to seven, with the Lakers prevailing. If they sweep, then LA will probably get on another big roll and beat the Mavs or Kings. I want the Lakers to lose, just not to the Spurs.

The League needs another champion, just to break up the monotony.

You better hope the Kings advance, ZRB... the officials have been in their corner as well, and the league might want a different champion. They're the only hope of beating LA (assuming the officiating stays as is). I still think the Spurs take out LA easily, if we get some officials with common sense, but I'm not holding my breath.

The Spurs couldnt capitalize on Shaq's and Kobe's injuries . Don't blame the refs , blame Robert Horry , Samaki Walker, Rick Fox, Derek Fisher, Shaquille O'neal , Kobe Bryant, Brian Shaw, Devean George , Phil jackson and others for overcoming adversity (injuries to their best players) and a 4th quarter defecit.
