Comcast Corp. is now broadcasting the KTXH (My20) channel in high definition. The Fox Television Stations-owned channel, was rebranded in June 2006 as My20 following the merger of WB and UPN, and began airing shows in September of that year. KTXH's HD version is on Comcast Channel 304. The station airs Houston Astros games as well as blockbuster movies and original programming such as "Jail" and "Celebrity Exposé." http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2008/05/12/daily39.html?ana=from_rss
Is it just me or is Comcast HD barely an improvement over channels broadcast in SD? When I run my cable straight to my TV my HD channels are great. But when I go throght my HD box the HD channels are only slightly better than the SD version of that channel but the SD channels are awful and I can't run my dvr.
It's still not in HD (todays Astros game), but its better quality. I hope this means all the Rockets home games will be in HD.
the playoff games were in My20HD. Y'all should invest in an HD Antenna and Tuner. PBSHD also has some good stuff
Anyone heard any news from DISH network on adding this one?? They are adding more HD channels to their lineup this month but didnt see anything about locals. Just hopeful I guess. I live in Conroe and according to antennaweb I am just SOL on getting Houston digital programming. Watching Rockets games on My20 is very painful.
I noticed a drop in the quality of the HD picture about 2 weeks ago. Too much compression I guess. Comcast HD blows. It doesn't even look like HD anymore.
i switched to directtv last week anyway. through at&t so when uverse comes out to my area, i can get that....comcast had just gotten so bad...
ESPN and ABC run 720p and its a noticeable difference vs FSHD and TNT(1080) for hoops. At least, its either that, or ESPN/ABC are really pumping out the edge enhancement/DNR before they transmit the signal. Because its a pretty noticable difference. Easy example is lining up for FTs, jersey names are not as legible. I use DISH though so haven't noticed a problem in recent weeks. In fact, I just got a new Samsung DLP a few weeks ago and noticed what a major upgrade the HD tech has come since my 2001 Mitsubishi.
Is your cable box set up to show shows in 1080i? My in-laws were seeing a poor HD picture. Their HD TV was set up properly, but the cable box was only set for 480i. I changed the setting on the cable box to 1080i and the picture improved tremendously.
