    Long story short:

Moved to Plano, got Comcast special (29.99) for broadband internet for 6 month, paid 55 dollars in first month's fee on top of first month's fee and $12 monthly fee for basic cable (total is around 100+). First bill arrived, charged me $45.00 just for internet and 55 total. Called 5 times before they told me I have to go to the store personally to get this thing setup. Ofcourse since I work for 9 - 6, none of the stores would be open when I have free time to go. Those guys needs to die. That is all.

Ya, I don't like comcast neither, but it's the only Broadband provider here in UTD, so I have to go with it.

Btw, you can acutally get comcast for 20 bucks for first 6 month and a free modem and 90 dollar cash back.

Haha.. I did tech support for Comcast for a few weeks last summer. I was pretty decent with troubleshooting tech problems, but I didn't have a clue how to use the billing software. I would always have to get a supervisor over to help with that stuff.

Anyway, there are a LOT of arseholes who call in from the US. I would say over half of all my callers were disrespectful jackasses with a silver spoon attitude.

Also, I've found that men are much harder to deal with than women. I used to love getting calls from women. They would just state their problem, usually in a friendly manner and let me get to work trying to help them. Most men, on the other hand, were either condescending, short-tempered or non-stop whiny b****es.

Some people are really stupid too, and get extremely angry without even knowing what they're getting angry about. Case in point: a man calls in irate because the installation crew set his startup homepage to be www.comcast.net (standard procedure). According to him, this is a huge, huge, huge problem and he wants a technician to come in to change the homepage back to what it was before. I tell him I can easily walk him through the procedure over the phone if he would just tell me the URL; seriously, it would take like five seconds. But no, he has to get a technician to come in and do it, and starts yelling at me that if I don't schedule someone to come in there that he is going to call the head office and get me fired (what a joke -- like we can schedule a truck roll to change a freaking homepage  ).

By the way, the old "I'll get you fired trick" will never work. The call centers stand behind their agents 100%, so don't bother trying it, because it's an empty threat.

For some reason, people have the idea that if they get all mad, that they will get better service, which is totally not true. It is always best to be calm and work with the tech support person.

So yeah... to sum things up, men are assholes on the phone and US Comcast subscribers in general are disagreeable bizznitches. Also, be nice to your Comcast tech support person. It's a crappy job and they put up with a lot of negativity.

I was very polite, even after they routed me twice to some place that used a message to tell me to hang up and try again. I was still calm when I call the third time and them having me calling national sales. Then the sales tell me to call local again, only to have them say go to the store, that's the only way to fix this. I didn't start getting testy tell maybe the 40th minute I was on the phone, and it was more along the lines of just telling them, my name, address, last four of my social as soon as they say hi, followed by I've called before. Testy yes, but not rude or anything. And the tech that actually installed my stuff, I gave him coke and talked to him, he was cool. Even when he started getting frustrated after the 3rd hour cuz they sent him to my place without the right equipment, I was nice to him. Even after he had to leave because he doesn't have the right equipment after 3 hrs, I told him it was ok, and he was cool enough to come back the next.

I'm very civil as person and very civil on the phone, but what I went through it was crap.
