I'm hating comcast more and more. It was fine the way it was 29 - Discovery Channel 30 - MTV 31 - TBS 32 - Spike TV 33 - ESPN 34 - ESPN2 35 - ESPN Classic 36 - TNT Now I have to change it to channel 51 for my TBS fix. Bunch of morons.
Little off topic, but while we are talking about Comcast, what are you guys paying monthly for services. I'm moving to Houston on Saturday and am going to get Comcast HD services and their high speed internet so I just wanted a round ballpark estimate on how much this might cost for both.
I have both (getting rid of internet though) and I pay about $130. Thats WITHOUT HD.. I only have one DVR Receiver and all HBOs and Showtimes. Internet is like 44.95 a month so thats gonna save me close to 50 bucks then I will get some HD going. I was going to switch to Dish or DirecTV but I decided its no use since it will still cost about the same.
The best thing to do is buy a bundle...we were paying for things seperately and it was costing us $125+ per month. But here's what I'm paying now... HD Digital Cable + Sports Package + 1 DVR Box (2 digital boxes in total) High Speed Internet My last bill was $108, mind you that they just raised their rates on October 1st.
U-verse isn't available everywhere, I looked into it. ATT wanted me to get Dish through them until U-verse was available in my area. I'm looking forward to the new HD channels in the next couple of weeks, and want to see if this "On Demand" improvement is as good as they say it is before ditching Comcast, but I am ready to fire them. In order to even get HBO or Showtime on digital cable they make you get "Digital Classic" and "Digital Preferred", which contain about 30 channels I don't watch for $11. You have to pay that fee or you can't even get the movie channels, and that's before you have to pay for the movie channels...
I've got HD Digital Cable + Sports Package + 1 HD DVR Box (2 digital boxes in total) High Speed Internet and my only premium is Howard TV for $13.99 a month. My last bill after the rate increase was $161.58. I found out I can get all of that, plus all premiums and A LOT more channels, especially for sports, with just as fast internet via U-Verse for around $120.00. Yeah, I'm changing.
TBS was originally 34 back in the days. 29 - DSC 30 - MTV 31 - Can't remember (FAM?) 32 - TNN 33 - ESPN 34 - TBS 35 - TNT 36 - AMC 37 - FSN 38 - HBO
Yea I remember. I mean I was kinda pissed about that too but it wasn't that drastic of a move. This is like 20 channels down. Sure the responses are gonna be "Don't be a 'tard. Just push '5' and '1' and move on w/ your life" Me, I like to just scroll up and down between Discovery, MTV, TBS, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT. Only time I stray away from that lineup is for VH1, Food Network, and Cartoon Network. How is U-Verse? Because my family's moving in a couple of weeks and I wouldn't mind getting away from the reigns of Comcrap.
You're getting ripped off. I have Comcast with internet, HBO, the sports package, HD package, and a DVR for like $102 AFTER tax.
and TBS HD is a joke, much like TNT HD. Maybe like one program on each channel is actually in HD, and on the rest they just streatch and distort the image to a 16:9 ratio to trick you into thinking it's HD.
and in case anyone missed it, Comcast Houston added NFL Network HD about a week and half ago. Channel 300.
What comes with the sports package? Some customer service rep told me earlier that they had some bundle package for high speed internet and cable for 69.99 and that HD would be an extra 13 and a DVR would be an extra 20. Sounds reasonable to me I paid like 112 a mo. for internet and hdtv in Austin with Time Warner
